I watch and analyze football everyday because it's my job and I can't come up with many players that over time would out perform Raz here. Therefor I ask the question again since I'm interested, who are all these players that could offer us more?
So i name half a dozen and you disagree.....lol.

If you cant see his contributions are woeful, you need a new job.

He got a goal and assist, but I understand the disappointment some players had with the rest of his game.

One point to his defense (just 1, he still needs to work up to his best overtime, which he has earned over the years) is that some of the moments where people are criticizing him is when he tries to take on 1, 2 or even 3 guys in a dribble, and he's justs trying too much.

The few times when he's just 1on1, then LW or RW, if he runs at his opponent he can get by and create something. He's not as good if the ball is at a deadstop, he needs to be running with it and then he will always get by and create.

But obviously Westbrom played tight and doubled up on the wingers, which is why neither of our wingers found much space, this game was won by the attacking 3 in the center.

Sterling has always been more athlete than footballer. I don't mean that as a criticism, I still think he's a fantastic player but even at his best he still has his moments where he takes one too many touches, is apprehensive taking his man on, misses a sitter, etc., quite frequently...it's just who he his.

He and Gabby are probably our two most glaring out of form players at the moment. But Raz has shown signs of life recently. Even outside the goal today he had some quality moments - setting up Mahrez's goal for one.

I have full confidence he'll find form again soon, and it seems Pep does as well - otherwise I dont think he'd have made him captain today. We just have to be patient. I think (hope??) he's beginning to turn the corner.

As someone that analysises football as a profession, what's your opinion on Sterling's current indecisiveness in the box?

I'm not just Raheem bashing, and I'm generally interested. He improved massively when Pep arrived. There was even the odd suggestion he could be a future Ballon d'or winner if he continued improving. Now, however, he appears to have gone backwards. Yesterday there was 2 clear examples of him being indecisive in front of goal, but were seeing it every game at the moment. What's going on with him?

His problem IMO is he's never had a footballing brain - a bit like Walcott really, or going further back, our own Darius Vassell. Pretty much guaranteed to choose the wrong option in any particular circumstance: Pass it when he should be shooting, blast it straight at a defender when a simple lay off for a tap in is on, dribble down a blind alley inevitably going nowhere. I might also add that his first touch is pretty dire for a player at his level.

Last season he seemed to have improved because Pep taught him where to go and how to move to get tap-ins, of which he got plenty. And a few pens won by charging into the box and drawing fouls.

But it seems to me he's now back to square one: A great athlete and will always get the odd goal, but 9 times out of 10 (and I mean that literally) he just fucks things up. I am not sure we will ever see a radical change because I am not sure you can coach this. It's a certain je ne sais quoi that the top strikers all have - the vision to see what's the right thing to do in a blink of eye, in a split second. Ras has never had this.

I've said it before but most of the people who want to sell him off and get someone else in don't have a clue who they'd bring in.

It's always a flavour of the month suggestion. People were genuinely saying at one point last season that they'd trade Sterling for Adama Traore. Adama fucking Traore.

I guarantee you those same people would be wanting them binned off within six months and saying they want the younger, shinier, newer toy who has been tearing it up for a few weeks in the Bundesliga.

So Sterling has no football brain and can’t finish but somehow miraculously he has notched over 100 goals for City as a wide player. If they were all tap ins(which they aren’t) how did he manage to get in the right position over 100 times with no footballing brain. Stick to the chips.
