No disputing his influence and contribution,that aspect of his game is great,but you fail to mention the times he has given the ball away....the most glaring being the opportunity Muller should have buried.
As for the defence not being tested,due to average opposition,the same criticism could be levelled at our attack by saying they should be doing better when up against such levels.
Sterling is having a fine tournament,i agree our best attacker,and far more positive than negative....but overall,not for me,Shaw pinches that accolade.
You fail to mention the times England have given the ball away.
Here are a few failures:

but
GOALS CONCEDED 0 and the fewest big chances given up in the tournament.
The give up to Muller was a howler but criticising Sterling for give-ups in this tournament is just petty relative to the many, many positive impacts he has made.
