I don’t think we should be offering him anything. Let’s see how he starts next season and make a decision around Xmas. I know it’s common practice to not let the contract go below 2 years but we are in such a strong position here. We are the best side in the country, potentially Europe and we have the best manager in the world. It’s hard to see how Sterling can get a better package elsewhere. He should earn his next contract, not be given it because we are scared he might walk on a free in 2 years.
Exactly this... not getting value for money already... no business in the world would throw more money into something that isn’t working. Be best all round if we move him on, he’d be better off abroad in Spain or Italy. Not strong enough for PL. Be interested to see how he gets on in the Euros

Needs to vary his game a bit more. He's become so predictable and easy to play against on the left. He needs to start trying to go outside the FB a lot more and keep him guessing. This might give him a bit more room on the occasions that he does come inside.

Either that or have a go on the right.

Sterling and Jesus would look more confident and better players if Erling Haaland arrives
I agree, particularly Sterling.

We are playing a much slower game this season. It's massively benefitted our midfield players or players that play at a slower pace (Mahrez, Gundogan, Stones etc). But our players who benefit from playing at a faster pace (Sterling, Aguero, Jesus, and Torres) are more out of their comfort zone than ever.

I don't think we'll return to 17-18 levels due to fitness concerns, but with a forward like Haaland we can get away with a bit more forwardness. Which would suit Sterling.

Thought he was a bit unlucky first half in that he got past the fullback a few times but the cutbacks didn't quite come off. Mixed in though with some dreadful control and losing the ball.

Another poor show from Sterling tonight. Offered very little and he needs a good Summer break and pre-season and needs a big improvement to his game.
He needs the season to finish yesterday, but unfortunately he has to play a few games for England, get knocked out in the semis and become the tabloids’ scapegoat before he’ll get a break this summer.

But he really does look out of sorts.

He started well but then as soon they scored he started doubting himself and be indecisive, you can see he has a confidence issue.
For some reason he is trying to win games by himself to prove a point.

What rich and exciting lives you all must lead that your instant reaction to a dead rubber, after we've won the league title, is to log on here and slate Sterling.

Will this thread be locked I wonder, or is that only for when Sergio is getting dog's abuse?

Presume you decided to log on here on Monday coming, glad your time machine is in good order, your ironicmeter appears to be fucked however.
