No disputing his influence and contribution, that aspect of his game is great, but you fail to mention the times he has given the ball away....the most glaring being the opportunity Muller should have buried.
As for the defence not being tested, due to average opposition, the same criticism could be levelled at our attack by saying they should be doing better when up against such levels.

Sterling is having a fine tournament,i agree our best attacker, and far more positive than negative....but overall, not for me,Shaw pinches that accolade.

You fail to mention the times England have given the ball away.

Here are a few failures:

Incomplete Passes 378
Miscontrols 55
Dispossessed 44
Failed Dribbles 31
TOTAL - 508
but

GOALS CONCEDED 0 and the fewest big chances given up in the tournament.

The give up to Muller was a howler but criticising Sterling for give-ups in this tournament is just petty relative to the many, many positive impacts he has made.

Sterling has been brilliant in the Euros. There's rumours that Arsenal are after him, would we be wise to sell him on current form?

Nah let's just keep him at this point. It's clear our current system is the problem since he's playing well for England and we'll be changing that system this summer almost certainly.

Sterling is back to his best in the Euro's. Class player, dangerous on the wing or moving central, scoring, assisting or involved in the buildup for most of England's goals.

How much are we selling Foden for?

Sterling playing well and hitting form in the euro's is a win/win , if he isnt happy we get a decent fee, if he signs a new contract we have a decent player who has regained his confidence for the next four years. If Sterling wants a move its not the end of the world there are better more consistent players at the club and available to sign from other clubs , if he wants to f*ck off to Spain or PSG then good luck to him , he has been brilliant for our club and i doubt our fans would give him the grief the Dippers dished out when he dared to leave.
If he stays great , if he leaves not so great, but not irreplaceable.

Lad seems to be growing in confidence each passing game in the Euros. Guess that could only be a good thing for us.

No one could afford his transfer fee even if he did want to go. Rightly or wrongly City patently have him in their long term plans otherwise I doubt he’d have started the CL final despite being rather shite this season.

I don‘t know if u are serious or not. Everyone is at fault but Raheem?

One thing I don't think he's getting enough credit for is that little run he made before the goal.

It looks extremely basic. He takes the ball about 10 or so yards and lays it off to Kane. But it's so effortlessly brilliant.

Over that short distance, he not only breaks a vertical line, but he takes out 3 defenders with a few short touches, before a 4th with the pass.

I don't think people realise how difficult that was. There's an extremely limited number of players in the world who have the close control, acceleration, agility, and intelligence to do all that. I can't even think of 5 other players who could've done that. None of the other English players could, and I include Foden, Grealish, Sancho, Mount, and Saka in that.

That move was so important, because that's the reason Germany were backpedalling so much, because Sterling changed the whole attack.

It was why at the 2018 World Cup every team double marked him, because that ability to drive through the middle is lethal. Literally outside of having a David Silva style genius who can position himself perfectly between the lines for receiving passes, the next most dangerous thing is having a guy that just run through. Those areas are always the most promising for an attacker to have possession.

I do feel a bit OTT typing this out though, as Sterling at the time probably didn't think much of it. He just saw a gap and went. But it's like Aguero smashing it in the near post; it looks simple enough but only he seemed to be able to do it, which is the measure of his quality.
Yes he makes runs into gaps, but like Sterling , you're over thinking it I feel.

He's back to his best this summer and showing everyone what a top class player he is, and silencing his critics along the way.
Time to tie him down to a new contract.
