The drop off from Bernardo and Rodri is huge, playing that trio in anything other than a nailed on is suicidal.

Gundo is another who needs a rest,he is beginning to resemble the figure that struggled a couple of seasons back.
To think this was the preferred trio just 12 months ago. How time has changed opinions.

No good and he seems to have pain.
Pep said in the post match interview "Gundogan is struggling a lot with his back and he has not performed well in the last two games. We must reflect what to do to recover him."
I wish him a rapid recovery. We need him.

Hmm.

Just got engaged AND his back hurts?

I'm no detective but I can see what happened here...

His back problems are worrying. He has them coming and going since his Dortmund days and it felt like he was off for almost half a year when his back problems got very ugly at one point. I hope for a quick recovery as well, the transition is so much better with him in the team.

With his persistent back problem....the decision to play him on Tuesday is even more mystifying
Bonkers how Pep can get everything right for so long and then just completely get it spectacularly wrong for no real reason and seemingly no logic at all behind it

What if, because it is recommendation from his physio and medical staff not him that makes pep decides?

Pep for all of his football geniuses and talent is not an expert on player condition and fitness, he will defer the judgement to physio and medical staff before makes the judgment.

So more like, put blame to those medical and physio staff on why they still insist to recommend Gundo to play the games to Pep.

I always think the mystifying thing is why fans with zero medical knowledge generally or specific to the player and injury think they're in a position to question a player's selection.

Gundogan missed all of the 2013/14 season and nearly retired with a back injury that needed surgery. It's not outside the realms of possibility that he has constant back pain that needs to be managed and has done for 7 years. It's very unlikely given his medical history that anyone is taking risks with his back.
