As for that other clueless twat Sharky7 implying that safety in Naples isn't the reason for taking low numbers then I'd love to know the real reason why so many have given this match a wide berth. Especially when you consider that we took 1500 to Juventus a week before Christmas last year for a dead rubber match in a lesser competition. When the draw was made, I and many others ruled this match out straight away on safety grounds and it was a straight toss up between Villarreal and Bayern Munich for me.

Not sure about that - our allocation was around 1500 which we sold no problem. However, some did travel over without tickets but I doubt it was as many as another 1500. The official attendance was 6,992 IIRC. Although the home ends were sparsely populated, no way was there 3000 of our own inside the ground that night.

We have received 1400 tickets for the final Europa League Group A game at Juventus.
This takes place on Thursday, December 16 and kicks-off at 6pm UK time. All supporters buying tickets or attending the match should take note of the following Important Information:
The name of the supporter who has purchased the match ticket will be written on the back of the ticket before it leaves the Ticket Office.
We have been advised that on the night of the match, the Italian Police and/or Stewards will check that the name on the back of the ticket matches that of the supporter listed on the ticket sales sheet supplied by MCFC to Juventus and photo identification may be requested to validate the name of the respective supporter. Supporters must be in possession of photo identification (passport) on the night of the match.

Bit out of order that. If people want to "bottle it" as you put it, that's up to them. Some of us value our own safety above a football match, even one as important as this (that's not to knock those that are going over of course - fair play to everyone that is). I know plenty of people that are more than capable of looking after themselves that have body-swerved this game because they consider it not being worth the hassle. I decided to do Juve last year because I canvassed advice from various quarters and the general opinion was that compared to the likes of Roma and Napoli, Juventus away is a relatively "safe" fixture and so it proved.
When I go to away matches both over here and in Europe, I want to relax and enjoy myself - staying sober and constantly looking over your shoulder doesn't constitute enjoyment in my book. I know reds who aren't exactly shrinking violets who were at Galatasaray in 1993 and Roma in 2007 and they didn't rate either trip as being a particularly pleasurable experience.
Having said all that, nobody will be more delighted than me if the match passes off without incident.
