Good game overall. Was being noticeably dominated physically by several Newcastle players in the second half (and they were being allowed to get away with all sorts of things, by the way, especially Joelinton, who just seemed to have free rein). He'll always be kind of small to be a genuine full back. But his intelligence with the ball is always visible.

As said though, he’s never going to oust Nunes/Kovacic/Rodri for that role, so while short term it’s fine, the likelihood is that he ends up like Palmer in the medium term, frustrated about limited gametime.

He is still very young, I think Kovacic is who he should be looking to learn from, I think he has the potential to blossom into that sort of midfielder.

Excellent in the middle of the park. He actually gets his head up and looks to move us forward. Some of our other 8s could learn a thing or two from that.
