82 | Rico Lewis - 2024/25

Zinchenko was 20 years old here, same as Rico...

I mean, I understand that he maybe working a lot and that's something Pep loves, but City is a special football club and just working hard isn't enough without a proper talent and physical abilities.

When you are not that tall, you should have at least Bernardo confidence with the ball. Unfortunately I don't see that confidence in Rico with the ball. Unconvincing first touch and ball always bounces whenever he touches it, not proper control.

That's where mistakes come. I always had same feeling when Sterling was receiving the ball.
But sterling was winger and that wasn't issue, cause loosing the ball in the final third can't bite you that much, but when you play inverted fullback that's the big issue.

Also not mentioning that defensive wise he is the biggest liability.

to be honest, a modern 8 also needs to be both fast and strong, especially in the burst of the first few steps.
Not necessarily.

I've seen plenty who are tall and fast and lack the technique side to make it.

And there is evidence of many small midfielders who have done well without speed or physicality, simply due to the difference the midfield role requires, mainy playing in the pockets.

but he might leave because of the knob heads

He's got a lot more steel than that. Anyway, I never hear any criticism of him in the stadium. It's just on here, and it's just a few.
He's had some not very convincing games recently. Who hasn't? Somebody can legitimately call him out for that on a forum. But to say he has no talent? He is the single most important talent to have emerged since Foden.

(By the way, in my considered opinion we didn't see enough of Palmer to judge him properly. Doing well at Chelsea? Glad for the lad. Proves not a thing. He looked good for us — not the game changer that he is at Chelsea. Totally different players there, totally different coach, different way of playing.)

The kid has a lot of haters. I don't get it.

Quality on and off the ball, fits in the team well and seems to be liked and trusted by his teammates and more importantly the manager. An integral part of the squad, even at an early age and still developing.

Too many spoiled fans wanting Galactico's in every position. Football doesn't work like that.

If we are talking Galacticos in the RB position I don’t think there are any RBs in the world who could be classed as a Galactico.
