Anyone who thinks that substantially cutting the welfare budget is the route to a better functioning society is deluded beyond words.

If people can't feed and clothe themselves they'll come and take it off you, possibly by force.

The welfare system acts as a safety net for all our sakes. Some people abuse it. That is the nature of human affairs; always will be, but we dismantle it at our peril.

Exactly mate.

More is lost through bureaucratic incompetence than fraud.

So called fraud amounts to 1% if that!
I personally think it might be higher than that, but not significantly so.

Whatever it is, I bet it's far lower in percentage and actual terms than that underpaid in taxes from the self-employed.

I would also wager its probably less than the amount that goes unclaimed by those entitled but who dont.

Bottom line is we are an incredibly rich nation with the means to be able to more than afford a welfare state that looks after its most needy and we can without doubt find other areas of spending to cull should the need arise before hitting those most in need.

two wrongs do not make a right

What is morally worse though, a person claiming a pittance in the grand scheme of things or rich people avoiding tax through legal loopholes.

Whilst someone with little or no money has to find £15 a week for an extra bedroom they didn't ask for and are given no alternative accommodation to move into, millionaires will be better off to the tune of around £100,000 a year thanks to their mates, Dave and Gideon.

And why do we need to choose which is worse? the worst argument ever someone is stealing more than me so therefore i should be allowed to carry on regardless

Wouldn't the answer be to try and stop both?

Stop what? Legitimate claims for welfare by those that need it the most? Nothing to stop unless you are a right wing couldn't give a fuck about anyone but me and my kind nut job.

Think on, the same week millions have to pay a bedroom tax with no alternative offered or council tax they just cant afford, 13,000 people who earn a £1m a year or more and swim in the same circles as Dave and Gideon get a nice little £100,000 a year tax break.

Makes me fucking sick!

Let's make this simple shall we if i was the sort of person who blagged myself a blue badge could i get out of certain car parking charges? yes or no it's a simple question

I will make this simple as simple is as simple thinks.

If you "blagged" a blue badge you would be guilty of fraud and i would want you punished.

As for getting out of paying for parking, yeah when i go to the village my badge saves me the 20p parking fee. I park there perhaps qnce a month so thats a whole £2.40p a year. That pays for my whole sky package, my drug addiction and my 24 cans of stella a day.
