Did the exact thing you want him to do when he doesn't score, draw players away, something we've missed since losing Sergio.

I also love how annoyed he was not to score, something you want to see from your main striker.
That might be the thing you (or we, as fans) want.
But we don't know what exactly that Pep wants him to do when he doesn't score, and that's more important.

I, personally, want more than that. But no complain if that's what Pep wants ;)

Eh? He doesn't score, but we score 4, where he laid the 1st on a plate for Gundogan; I'm fairly certain Pep will be more than happy with his contribution

His movement has impressed me. Obviously it'll stick out more when defenders are scared shitless of you, but he seems to have a good reading on the game and knows how to use his pace/size not only to get into good positions but to draw defenders away and create space for his teammates (see KDB goal)

Showed us the true value of Haaland today. he's not just goals, his sheer presence, the fear he strikes into defenders, the movements he makes not neccesarily to get the ball everytime but just to drag the defender with him to free space elsewhere, those things are his true value to this side.

As for the goals, he was getting in spaces, inches away from 2/3 balls that in a few weeks he will get to because they're all fully on the same wavelength,
His movement is phenomenal and the way he just bodies centre halves like an adult playing with under 8's will never ever get boring to see.

If he doesn't touch the ball all season but occupies 2/3 defenders to give the likes of kdb foden mahrez and gundogan the space to do the business, he's more than played his role. Great display.

Bournemouth did a reasonably good job of loading up on him and denying him any kind of space, but of course that frees up room for the other boys to take advantage. He's going to be a huge plus this season, teams aren't going to know where to look when we are going forward :)

That's the thing I'm not too sure, in this specific match :)

I think that without him KDB doesn’t have the room to get a shot off, he single handedly occupied 3 defenders. That’s the sort of thing we desperately need against packed defenses. The goals will absolutely come.

He is a natural born striker with the attitude to succeed. If he stays relatively fit he’ll break all records in england

Teams think they’ll be able to stop him by marking him out of the game but if everyone does that we’ll score 4 every week because everyone else will have more space. If it was ten degrees cooler yesterday we’d have scored 8 I’m convinced of it. Our midfield were free to do whatever they wanted outside of passing to Haaland because all Bournemouth were interested in was stopping Haaland.

Then when he finally did get the ball he only completed two passes, but one of which was a very good assist for the goal and won a header at a defensive corner.

There will be other team watching that yesterday who think “nope, stopping Haaland isn’t going to stop City” and then that’ll free up Haaland more and we’ll score 4 that way haha

No issue at all with his performance yesterday. Hard to find space with Bournemouth defending so deep but he could easily have had 2 goals yesterday and just failed to get on the end of a couple of brilliant KDB deliveries.

Hes a nightmare for defenders which will help the other players, think we'll see Gundogan and De Bruyne get big numbers this season.

If you watch KDBs goal there was two Bournemouth players jumping for the ball with Haaland which just opened up the field for us.

Exactly.

Yesterday he was surrounded by 4 or 5 players trying to stop him from getting the ball. Consequently Ilkay, Kev and Phil had a field day with so much space.

I agree but there's little doubt Pep would like to see him more involved in our passing game. Pep will teach him how to use his physical attributes to hold up the ball around the box and pass it to other attacking players: basically what he did for Gundo's goal but more often. Think he was a bit isolated at times and it wasn't only his fault. Maybe we had speculative attempts from outside the box when a pass to Haaland was an option.

He’s going to be one of the most game changing players city have ever signed.

Our entire game dynamics have changed & other teams no longer have an answer.

I can see foden, Kev or Gundy being our top scorers this season. Haaland creates space & confusion which we have never had before.

He will become even more dangerous in champs league

Fookin love the guy already. Just hope he ignores the vile press in this country.

The only real thing he did wrong yesterday was missing the chance Grealish provided just before he was substituted.

If Foden passed him the ball as well he could have easily have left the pitch with 9 touches, two goals and an assist.

He could have had a hatrick yesterday if players passed to him in the postitions he was taking up instead of shooting. Bizarre that last season in same scenarios same players would have tried passing into the net.

His off the ball movement opened up a lot of space too and defenders seem preoccupied with him.
