If we manage to achieve the treble and haaland scores 60+ goals, do you think he wins the ballon d'or?
No, sadly, Messi will get his last major personal accolade.

But I think if Haaland maintains (or improves on) this level next season he will win it, even playing for us.

And, to be honest, it’s probably best for him and us that he doesn’t win it in his first season with City.

Haaland’s movement and vision (and instinctual finishing, almost always picking the right technique for the situation) is the definition of world class.

Anyone saying he is a #TapinMerchant is bitter, stupid, or both.

I have never seen a player with better movement off the ball in watching live football since 1968. Haaland is astonishing and you can't capture his brilliance on TV. I was gutted when he went off at half time (the right decision obviously). He is never offside. He totally destroyed those two defenders yesterday. It wasn't really more than a half chance but Haaland made it look easy.

Some on here don’t, but going off social media the general consensus is he has to and surely he will if we at least champions league.
Don’t think anything takes it off Messi, even if I think Haaland deserves it on merit.

It's annoying. The ballon d'or normally should be awarded to the outstanding player throughout the season. But because of messi's "fairytale" ending and the award basically being a popularity contest, its most likely messi's

I think this is his trademark goal. It's a perfect combination of pace, technique and finishing.

And that little fake run like he was going to the defender’s right which made the centreback and fullback let off a bit is undervalued.

He does it all the time and it is so difficult to read.

I can't believe the rest of the top teams in the World let us buy this lad...and for £51m!!!...It's their biggest mistake!

Then he’s just winning it because of his name and that wouldn’t surprise me with football. He wasn’t even the best player at the World Cup.
I agree, but the Ballon d’Or is rarely about who deserves it the most, unfortunately.

I am amused to see that the Bundesliga Youtube channel has made a video called "Moments that Can't be Repeated in Football".

This Haaland goal for Dortmund caught my attention:

"Can't be repeated." Oh really?

CTRL-C, CTRL-V.

Not sure what world cup you were watching. He was on a different level at times

I was watching the one where mbappe was clearly the better player, single handedly dragged France back into the final on his own.
Didn’t influence his team as much as Messi did throughout though. Messi was playing amazing passes as well as bagging vital goals
