9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

Kev's creativity is sorely missed atm.

The club must be working on this , but finding the next KDB is a bloody difficult task .
You can see Pep trying to get more out of the wingers, the both look better inverting but narrows the pitch and are more likely to shoot. (no full backs or mids going outside either). keeping them wide and on natural side neither seem to have found a decent crossing radar yet.. Still only 8 games in and 4 without Kev i have hope.

Play quicker (or with more risk - which is where Kev excels), he'll score more goals. It seems we're worried about being so open when we give the ball away, but part of this is also the slow crawl with which we play at. There was one chance for gundo to put him through on Sunday but unsurprisingly he chose the safe option. Once it becomes 10 v 11 in the final 30 yards of the pitch everything has to be perfect.

Because this is how it looks behind our back three when attacking with Dias in Rodri's role, Gvardiol even further up and John wherever. This is probably Eddie's view

Yep. If we actually attack with pace they won't have the chance to get upfield and abandon eddie! Anyway, what do i know.

I agree that he misses Kev. But he's one of the most elite strikers in world football - if not THE most elite - so he shouldn't be solely dependant on one player's brilliance to perform.

If he is, he's fucked because Kev is one of a kind.

For what it's worth, I don't think he is that reliant on him. He's just not found by other players because they're not willing to take the risks that De Bruyne does on the ball. We either need to find somebody who is (Foden does, Musiala/Wirtz etc.) or tell the ones we have to look for him more!

Don't forget.. Kun only had 5 20 goal seasons for us.. and 3 of them came under Pep.

Not sure if you remember the papers with Kun in tears during the 2012-13 season because the league had adapted to him and called him a one season wonder as he was struggling to get goals.

Currently we don't have Rodri, KDB, or Foden. So where is the service to Haaland going to come from?

Not to mention he has 3 CB's on him whenever he's 30 yards of goal.. so how do you expect him to provide goals with that problem and when he has no service?

I agree with all this, and yet I still think his performances are below par as well. Don’t know if the problem is him or how Pep is using him or both, but we need to find ways of involving him when KDB, Foden and Rodri are off the pitch too.

wonder how we will manage his minutes. dont think its great he is played almost all minutes in PL and CL.
In PL he was once subbed off in 88th min otherwise played every single minute.

I think its more of an issue there is no proper striker on the bench after selling 2 strikers. so to take him off at 75min and someone fresh coming on attacking a tired defence aint even an option especially with bit of height.

i doubt its possibe for him to start remaining 30 PL games and never really being subbed off. bit if a burnout is a risk if we keep doing that.
