Half yard out or not, you have to look at the situation. One of them had Mahrez go through players and get out of a gap that Jesus didn’t expect. Then the pass comes and Jesus reacts instinctively and redirects it to goal but it doesn’t go in, difficult to blame Jesus there.
You guys talk nonsense. Everything is too simple, the level of analysis is shockingly poor. Missed an easy chance? Get rid he sucks. Not like all strikers miss chances every game you know.
Read this for better analysis. Not from me but from the mcfc subreddit.
People really have no clue how good Jesus is. I say this every week, but he was sublime in so many ways again tonight. He scored the third, sure, but that wasn't amongst the top ten really good things he did tonight. Whether it was picking Chilwell's pocket deep in Leicester's own half to create a chance, or terrorizing Leicester's backline by occupying both center halves (and freeing up space tons for everyone around him), Jesus was a constant menace with his pressing and his movement. What REALLY stood out to me though was his role in City's second. Yes, Sterling deserves loads of credit for committing Ricardo and drawing the foul, and yeah, we should talk about Mahrez's pass into space that set Sterling free, but it was Jesus' awareness to come deep, hold off the much larger Johnny Evans, fight off his foul, and play the ball into the feet of Mahrez that allowed this move to happen at all.
It's always so easy to focus on the end product, but in almost all instances, it's something that happened many, many touches before that created a chance. Today, that could be seen in the way City couldn't defend Leicester's first goal, but it can also be seen here. Gundogan plays one of his lovely little chips over Leicester's the midfield before Jesus pulls the pin that detonates the grenade that explodes a few seconds later.
It's been almost exactly three years since Jesus arrived from Pamerias as a 19 year old left winger, since then he's had to learn the role of center forward and performances like today - something that has long become commonplace for Jesus - are the result of all that hard work. He's really, really good.
