9 more wins from 11 games

Hah thanks Zim! We might have struggled in klanfield in recent years, but we've broken our emirates hoodoo last year, we're won twice in a row at the swamp and battered the chavs in stamford bridge on this journey. As things stand liverpool have 4 less possible points than us, they NEED to win this to have any hope of the title, as other posters have said a draw isn't brilliant for us, but it's not a disaster either, so we're not imo going to push up and leave them the space like we did in eastlands, we'll play on the counter and with their defence we should not be losing this game, but we need to win our games in the run-up so that we hold that advantage going into the game.

a lot of football to played yet,a quarter of the season!! look at how games can change on 1 decision by the ref,1 stupid foul, fine lines!!

we need to get our swagger back….get key players flying again,if this happens i think we will do it……liverpool and arsenal will buckle under pressure IMO,chelsea under cunty have the experience of being there……we have been there….between City and chavs me thinks!!!

Eight wins, two draws and a single loss gives us 86 points ? I can see us doing that and I think that should be enough.

I don't think we will lose to Arsenal or Liverpool. Right now it's the Derby that I don't fancy. If you had asked me a fortnight ago though I would have said the game at Hull after Barcelona.

I really fancy us.

If we beat United next week, it then actually afford us two freebies, wherever they may come.

They could be defeats to both Arsenal and Liverpool.

That's how big the weekend was for us and the game at the shithole.

Our goal difference and improving defensive stats are going to be crucial and a few goals v Fulham this weekend will set us up nicely.

How so? If Chelsea win all their remaining games, they'll reach 90 points. If we lose two of our remaining games and win the other nine, we'll get to 87 points.

We can, as of now, afford one defeat.

Important we start scoring goals again. GD could be important. However, I think Chelsea are still the main rivals
Totally agree,been there,seen it,done it

Not after this weekend, perhaps.

With a midweek Champions League game against Galatasaray, and both Ramires and William suspended for the Arsenal game, would not be surprised in the slightest if Arsenal take points.

-- Mon Mar 17, 2014 11:50 am --

"as of now"

My realistic take is based on us winning the games we should be expected to win, and Chelsea not winning every game between now and the end of the season.

Beat United, and we get ourselves some more wiggle room.

And that can be afforded by defeats at both Arsenal and Liverpool, based on the above.

A draw is the perfect result - then i reckon we can afford a loss and a draw against liverpool and arsenal respectively, and still get over the line....just

Yes, but you can't guarantee that. In the worst case scenario, which you should always assume will happen), we can definitely afford one defeat at worst. Yes, if Chelsea drop more points (which they can do when they go to Anfield), then the equation changes. Not before then though.

A lot of pressure on Chelsea going into their game against Arsenal

On the back of losing to Villa and a tough game on Wednesday the last thing they will have wanted was a fresh Arsenal turning up and without two of their key players

They will know that any slip up and we are ready to pounce against Fulham.

I can see Arsenal getting a point at least, they are very good defensively and will pack the midfield and I can see a frustrating afternoon for Chelsea.

If they do drop points and we go onto beat Fulham it will leave us one point behind them with two games in hand

3 games in hand. 2 after the derby the following midweek.
