A lot of pressure on Chelsea going into their game against Arsenal

On the back of losing to Villa and a tough game on Wednesday the last thing they will have wanted was a fresh Arsenal turning up and without two of their key players

They will know that any slip up and we are ready to pounce against Fulham.

I can see Arsenal getting a point at least, they are very good defensively and will pack the midfield and I can see a frustrating afternoon for Chelsea.

If they do drop points and we go onto beat Fulham it will leave us one point behind them with two games in hand
3 games in hand. 2 after the derby the following midweek.

Correct. Busy morning at work :)

Although im taking 3 points at OT as a given!!

I wouldn't be sure Liverpool will beat Cardiff.

There are no easy fixtures at this stage of the season, and for the first time they wont will have the weight of expectation upon them

They wont get gifted 3 pens every game either. Crazy panicked defending from Utd gifted Liverpool the game today. More a case of Utd imploding than Liverpool doing anything special

Media, inspired by multiple scouse pundits, have gone into overdrive because Liverpool beat a less than mediocre team away yesterday. But, they still have a shit defence which we and Chelsea will expose.
There is no way that they will be allowed to dominate every game like they did yesterday. And, of course, it'll be interesting to see how they react when the pressure gets intense - they haven't been there before, apart from Gerard.
We are at 'the party' with no distractions now, and don't need to win every game to win the title. I was very worried after Kompany got sent off on Saturday - as we were all, no doubt - but having come away with the points, and Chelsea slipping up, it's ours for the taking, with a bit of wiggle room as well.
I don't see Liverpool finishing above 3rd, behind Chelsea and us at the top. But, if they manage it, fair play to them - at least they play attractive attacking football. If it can't be us, I'd rather that they won it than Chelsea.

That's pretty much how I see it. Hate the way Chelsea play but I actually quite like watching Liverpool as they play attacking football like us. But like you said we will certainly test their defence at Anfield and I expect Chelsea will as well, then you've got Spurs going there wanting a bit of revenge for their mauling at WHL in December.

It's firmly in our hands, and even more so if Arsenal can get something on Saturday.

But as the old cliche goes, one game at a time. If we keep it simple I'm confident we will win the league, as I have been all season.

in 2012 the defining moment for me was the Arsenal away match when, after a certain mad Italian had been sent off we lost and many if not all blues had given it up, and Mancini cracked with his famous "Mario will not play again for us" ( thank god he did ala Carlos) lets hope after two energy sapping defeats , that the day Vinny walked and the gallant 10 men of City against the odds , got the three points at Hull will be the defining moment of 2014 We are MANCHESTER CITY and we fight till the end when interviewed after another breathtaking title win Pellegrini stated "i repeat we were always ready to try for this title we are Manchester United we play till we end

sorry I forget to add a nod to pellegrini"s maths re above "Pellegrini said after the win that gave the blues the title" it was difficult as we knew a nil- nil would do it so we were a bit nervous when Aguero scored"

I think we can afford to lose 2 games if Arsenal grab something from Chelsea this week, as long as one of those 2 games isn't against Liverpool. I'd be happy with a point from the Pool game, but we absolutely cannot lose to Pool.

People need to give their heads a wobble over the liverpool away game, if we play to anywhere near the standard we did away to barca or munich we'll beat them.

I think it's just a combination of repeatedly struggling at Anfield combined with them being much better than at any point since we were taken over. We even made Andy Carroll look world class once. They've had inferior players for ages, but they always seem to raise their game and were very, very difficult to beat at the Etihad.

Would take a draw there as long as we beat the rags and Arse, though no reason we shouldn't win every game left like the run we went on after Sunderland away. It's the only competition so only one thing to focus on. We'll have a couple of extra games to fit in but adrenaline should be seeing us through at this point.

Speaking for myself, I don't think I'm bigging up Liverpool unduly, I'm just trying to be very steady eyed about this run-in. The point I'm making is that we don't need to perform miracles or anything like them to bag this trophy. A loss somewhere in our last games would be no disaster - we could still definitely win the Premiership - and the most likely place it's going to happen is at Anfield. Before the Christmas period, I thought Liverpool were a one-man team, and that they were going to fold. Well, I was wrong, that isn't happening (although I must say, they've been eerily lucky with Suarez's total absence of injuries - has he been out even once this season?). They have also been the team that has impressed me most at the Etihad (and yes, this may sound strange, that includes Chelsea in the league and Wigan in the cup) and generally over the season apart from ourselves. They are very, very fast on the break, and if we didn't have the back line we've got this season I'd be more bullish about the Anfield game. As I say, if we lose there, no big deal. They're supposed to have a fragile defence and yes, if Sergio's back and in top form, we can certainly punish them. Anyway, look, we know football: anyone can beat anyone, just about, on their day.

Just seen the rearranged games. I think that we will win the league at Everton, with the next two home games being one big fuck off party.

That's the spirit!!!

I have posted before that I would prefer our run in than others. Playing the "lesser teams" at home is almost banked points whilst the away games we can play like finals.

I would hate to have to go to four relegation threatened teams away and then look at the home fixtures with not many "nailed on wins". We can land knockout blows at The Emirates and Anfield if we play well. As a back up away draws are a million times better than homes draws.

Bring it on!!!

Important we start scoring goals again. GD could be important. However, I think Chelsea are still the main rivals
Totally agree,been there,seen it,done it

Not after this weekend, perhaps.

With a midweek Champions League game against Galatasaray, and both Ramires and William suspended for the Arsenal game, would not be surprised in the slightest if Arsenal take points.

If we beat United next week, it then actually afford us two freebies, wherever they may come.

They could be defeats to both Arsenal and Liverpool.

That's how big the weekend was for us and the game at the shithole.

Our goal difference and improving defensive stats are going to be crucial and a few goals v Fulham this weekend will set us up nicely.
How so? If Chelsea win all their remaining games, they'll reach 90 points. If we lose two of our remaining games and win the other nine, we'll get to 87 points.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/tables" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/tables</a>

We can, as of now, afford one defeat.

"as of now"

My realistic take is based on us winning the games we should be expected to win, and Chelsea not winning every game between now and the end of the season.

Beat United, and we get ourselves some more wiggle room.

And that can be afforded by defeats at both Arsenal and Liverpool, based on the above.

Well this is true with respect to Chelsea. As of now, we can drop 3pts and still finish ahead of them. I think they will max get 3-4pts from their Arsenal/Liverpool games, so that means we can now drop 5-6pts, which means yes, we can potentially lose at both Arsenal and Liverpool.

But if we lose at Liverpool and Arsenal, it leaves Liverpool being able to equal us on points, even if they only draw with Chelsea. And they are the only team that is close to matching us on goal difference and might well surpass us if they beat us. So as I said on another post, they are arguably a bigger threat than Chelsea. Right now, I would happily take a point from Anfield.
