93:20 Tenth anniversary celebrations

There are 2 events, one at Mayfield Depot and the other, more expensive dinner, at the Legends Suite. So it's not the same event and the 300 corporates can have their sit down lunch without affecting the Friday night do.

Mayfield Depot can only accommodate 2000 and there's probably 10 times that number who've had a season card for 10 years or longer. So a ballot is the only fair way to do it.

The thing that we (City Matters) would have done differently is charge a bit more, say £10 or £15, with 2 or 3 free drinks. The problem with charging a fiver is that people are more likely to buy tickets if successful then not turn up. By making it more expensive up-front, you reduce that risk. But the club ignored us.
I'd agree on the charging more to actually get people to attend the cheaper event.

Personally I'd not go to either event. I've got my personal memories of that day which is more than enough, these sort of things always end up a bit plastic and twee for me but, I was aiming my comments at the posh do.

There are no records pre dating the move to the Etihad so that would be hell of a lot of fans
My own ticket points history shows the above statement is false.

Why celebrate something that happened 10 years ago? The fact the the £5 entry ticket can be redeemed against a soft drink show it is just a big money making exercise.

Why couldn’t they have rewarded fans who have had season tickets the longest.
I guess because it’s an evening event and it would be past most of their bed times. ;-)

In all seriousness though, if they did it on longevity, it would be a very old crowd and they probably want younger people there too.
