I only vaguely remember this.
Does anyone remember going to this ?

City win 3-2 at Old Trafford – but not against Manchester United. Having drawn twice with Luton Town in the League Cup third round – 1-1 at Kenilworth Road and 0-0 in the replay at Maine Road – a neutral venue was arranged, though being held in Manchester, City had something of an advantage! It was worth the admission just to see City fans in the Stretford End, and the Blues progressed to the next round thanks to goals from Peter Barnes, Mike Channon and Brian Kidd in front of a gate of 13,,043.

I was there at OT that night. I don't remember a great deal about it except that it wasn't a big crowd and it was spread very thinly around the ground.
I enjoyed going there for the one and only time without having to worry about getting my head kicked in by the red scarfed gorillas who normally frequented the swamp in those days.
I'm pretty sure I got the train there and back ( into Oxford Road Station) which was a bit of a novelty for me.

Er....

Went to Ipswich away on the Saturday before or after(first away game on Finglands). Couldn't afford to go to OT. Listened to it on the radio at Wilbraham High youth club. The reds were taking the piss when we were 2 nil down.
Anyone remember who knocked us out?

Think I might have been in the Stretford End seats. Not certain though. Surprised to see there was 13,000 there to be honest. Just about my only recollection of the evening is there seemed to be hardly anyone there.

I remember us playing a 2nd replay vs Walsall around 1973 at the Swamp. The mullet haired Bay City roller fans were out in force that night (outside the ground) trying to ambush blues after the game.

I was there with my dad and grandad and mate,we stood to the far left of the stretford end, remember very little even the score but knew we won.In my minds eye though, the ground seemed much more full than 13,000,

I was there with my old man and brother, I seem to remember the Futcher brothers playing, knew we won but thought one of the other two games was called off due to the weather. For some reason I thought it was 5-3 to us.
