I think we'll get 4th, I really do - I think the crunch games were the recent run of away games and to be honest I cant argue with the points return.

I think we are in the strongest position to get 4th because we have 6 games at home, some of these games are against teams that are around us so if we can avoid defeat then I think we'll be laughing.

2 of the three games we are playing away are very beatable, the majority of the home games are against teams that will have nothing to play for. I would sooner play a team thats safe from relegation than a team scrapping for its life, look at Wolves yesterday.

The only thing that worries me is the injuries we are picking up - Micah, Lescott, RSC & Bridge have all picked up injuries. Just hope we can get by with Garrido at LB.

I've been in dreamland this season, I canr believe we have got the least ammount of defeats in the league and that we have a world class player like tevez playing his heart out for the shirt!
 
I can't get used to not wanting the season to end lol.

Usually nothing to play for by this stage, or we are dreading getting sucked into relegation fights!

I know, and I mean know, that the longer this season goes on the better we will get.

Yeah I know what you mean, Mancini seems to coach players which develops them and then they play better - I cant remember the last time we had a manager who made a player better rather than worse (perhaps Keegan with Dunne, but that was a motivational life style change).

I really do have faith in mancini, for his sake I hope we get 4th as he puts in more hours than a junior doctor!
 
Only lost FOUR games all season so far ! I really can't believe it being a City fans it's awesome !
 
if we are within 3 points of spurs after the next couple of games we have a good chance, they have 3 tough games after that back to back in which we can try and open a gap on them, villa are also a danger, liverpool are out of it now i think

i can't wait for the season to be over, i do agree though that we are getting better as bob realises how to work the prem.
 
even if we lose 3 games we are still in a good position as long as we beat spuds and villa.

Fifteen puts us on 68 from home games alone. We'll get at least four from the aways IMO (Burnley and Hammers, plus we seem to be Arsenal's bogey team this year ;-) which will give us 72 pts.

If 72 pts doesn't get us into the CL I will be amazed. I think less than 70 could do it this year.

It'll be tight. The stoke/spuds game has made things a lot harder because its one we could have realistically expected them to drop points. I hate to say it but it looks like Twitcher has galvanised spuds into a very solid side. Normally we'd expect them to start tailing off but so far there is little evidence of it happening.

Still I think we will get 4th. Its becoming clear that Mancini's ideas and influence is slowly but surely getting through to the squad and he knows how to grind out results without playing at 100% which is always the sign of a good manager. Everton, Wigan we need at least 4 points. Anything less and it starts to get difficult.

YOur right though, it will be a hell of a finish to a season.
 
It looks good, but I think it could go to the last game of the season. Spurs are the danger, and both their games against Chelsea, and arsenal will be at home. They have not lost for 4 years at home to both of these teams, and if they get Lennon and Defoe back for these games they could well get 4 points.
They never win at O/T, but who ever can get 6 wins I think will win it.
Spurs I think will get 69/70 max.

Sorry hilts but thats a strange comment. The next 2 games are at home. One is Wigan and even with our woeful record against them surely you don't think we will f*ck up there. The other of course is Everton. If we want 4th then that also should be a win but for arguements sake call it a draw. Give them 3 pts against Portsmouth next Saturday and we are only a point behind. (beat Everton and of course we are 2 points ahead !!)
 
If we can get a win against Everton during the week I think we will win our next 3 games after that leading into our home game with the rags and our away trip to Arsenal. By the time we play Villa and Spurs we could have a few points on them if the team plays and gets the results they can get. Also having those 2 games at home we are the favourites for fourth place no matter what we think and should be looking at doing it now. 3 tricky away games in a row at Chelsea , Sunderland and Fulham and to get 7 points out of those games most teams in the league would bite your hands off for that. Its now about doing it at home. If we can get 15 points from our home games remaining and beat Burnley away thats 18 points. Thats 71 points in total I cant see Villa or Spurs getting over 68 points in the run in both will have the distraction of a cup semi final as well and there could well be a cup hangover after those games.
