A big "well done" to the Met

Ok as Tom appears to want to stay quiet, here is the alternative. The police obtain CCTV/phone footage of the offenders, they then build a database of their clothing, mannerisms, routes taken by them. This is then compiled to identify which area/esate the offenders come from. The police then conduct early morning patrols to find the mopeds and then conduct observations on them. When someone comes to the moped they are arrested and interviewed, make no comment and bailed pending further enquiries. Whilst this is happening their homes are searched, mobile phones seized, clothing seized. these are then sent to a specialist unit to see if the clothing matches footage, the phone has anthing incriminating on it etc etc. 5 months later ..................

Ok it needs a few more tweeks but I think it is a great idea, anyone else ?

A cunning plan with one big flaw...

Where's the fun in that?

cunning plan it may be but it has zero chance of working,....
Mr Dibble "you have the same coat as this offender'
Scrote 'So do thousands of other people' or 'I borrowed it from a mate'

So how do you propose we deal with this type of individual?

Tom, please tell this board how you would deal with this problem. We are waiting to hear your solution.

Still no post from Tommcfc explaining how he would tackle these violent gangs.

Nope and yet he has logged on since the question was posed,twice.....

I imagine he'd give the shit heads a big cuddle while asking them nicely not to be naughty boys.

Wow, you guys, I've never felt so wanted.

Just a couple of suggestions of less brute force tactics that have already been deployed;

Undercover operations - https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/jun/08/met-police-pose-delivery-drivers-combat-moped

DNA Tagging Spray - https://www.selectadna.co.uk/news/d...significant-reductions-in-moped-enabled-crime

Snatch and Grab - https://www.standard.co.uk/news/cri...lt-moped-theft-menace-in-london-a3711831.html

These are just 3 alternatives to driving into people and running the risk of death or serious injury.

They are different strategies used at at different times and when appropriate.None of the above stop a shit head when hes doing 50mph down the high street after snatching a bag or having stabbed someone.

So,we're back to square one,and the most effective method - knocking the cvnts off and hopefully causing some hurt in the process.

Tom, The obvious problem with DNA Taging spary is how does a young/old lady tag someone after having there phone or handbag snatched ? Further DNA tagging spray has been used for many many years, the forerunner was 'SmartWater' It does not work and is not a deterent. It relies on the police finding a coat or similar that has been uniwuely tagged and then proving that the offender they have in custody is the offender who wore it 3 months ago.
As an aside, Those that rob cash in transit couriers had a problem of how to dispose of bank notes dyed blue/red. They simply go to the many machines that are around supermarkets and change them (there is/was one at the Parrswood complex in Didsbury - always getting dyed notes back)
Undercover cops - I don't know many 17yr old cops who have been trained to inflitrate gangs, do you ?
The snatch squads are just the same as this tactic, but it risks serious harm to both the robber and the cop whereas knocking them off with your car doesn't.

Sorry, I would just ram them off their bikes and save all the aggro.
