Like the one where they’re not sure why they’re in pursuit, what crime has been committed.. and ultimately whether the risk of knocking the rider off the bike is worth it

Then a lovely gentle nudge might be a resort, but I don’t think it should be first port of call.. circumstances and all that.

Fleeing cars get a stinger don’t they? Rather than being rammed off the road? Maybe there are similar less fatal measures for bike riders

Don't know what they get mate, only been signalled to pull over once and did it straight away. Don't really understand why anybody could behave differently tbh.

I take it you mean we lock the police up if they ram an innocent ? that is the reason they stopped chasing cars and knocking yobs of bikes in the first place. Look at the uproaor when an innocent is killed when the police are chasing cars ? the result is the cops say it just isnt worth it and stop doing it.

Absolutely Misty mate, if the police harm an innocent person they should face the same consequences everyone else should. With allowances made if they had good reason to believe they were in the right, same as anyone else. We have a duty to support the police, not to give them immunity from the law.

Where is this ‘uproar’ from the PC brigade you speak of? I have never heard anything of the sort.

Fair do's I understand what you are saying now. Yes if when chasing a violent offender they knock someone else over, let them off. If they fit up an innocent and simply knock him down then they get done.
