How about the 4 nations (england,scotland.wales. and northern ireland) have a combined team for the 2012 olympics NOT just consisting of english players.....thoughts?

Great Britain has been dismantled. They've already got free prescriptions and free university places in Scotland. Now you want them to dismantle our football team as well? Bollox to that.

Great Britain has been dismantled. They've already got free prescriptions and free university places in Scotland. Now you want them to dismantle our football team as well? Bollox to that.

Great Britain is England Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland is part of the UK. The Olympic Team is called Great Britain & Northern Ireland. Its basic geography guys.
As per The International Olympic Committee, anybody from Northern Ireland can choose to represent GB & NI or ROI. I don't know how it works with the soccer at the moment I think NI players have choice to represent NI or ROI when they start so that would mean all NI players would automatically qualify for the GB & NI team in the olympics and would not be given the same choice as other NI athletes to represent ROI.
In fairness if they have already decided to play for NI then there is little chance they want to change to ROI unless the ROI have a team entered also and there is a better chance of making that team. Its an interesting but moot point i know.
