At 0720 AM on April 17th, Koen was born. He is early at 33 weeks but he is strong and healthy for his gestational period. Nothing in the world could bring me down from that high on Wednesday, and it is still going strong today.

I can't wait to watch matches with him in a few years time when he can pay attention to a few minutes at a time and understand that Dad is excited by it.

Congratulations, mate, and welcome to the world, tiny blue!

Congratulations. Never heard the name Koen before. Just out of interest, where does it have its roots?

Google says:

Koen is a Dutch name for boys that means "brave," "capable," or "hero". It is popular in the Netherlands and Flanders, and is often an abbreviation of Koenraad. The name is derived from the Proto-Germanic name *kōnja-, which means "brave". In Dutch, the name is pronounced "kunon," which rhymes with "soon".

Not sure that is the origin for @BoundedCascade ’s little one, but thought I would share as he may be a bit tied up at the moment. :-)

I actually know some named Koen—they are Irish, though, and I am not sure of the specific origin of their name.
