I dont know whether its just me getting excited over the potential signings of silva and toure but i sense a new more optimistic mood on this board and i for one am loving it.

I keep hearing people mentioning title push and if you'd of said this to me the night of 'that spurs game' i would of thought you were mad but i genuinely we will be pushing for the title next season and even if we don't get it then we'll definitely finish in the top 4 and secure champions league football and a place (if we don't already have one) at the top table competing for signings with the top teams rather than being a second choice.

I think it is absolutely crucial that we get two full-backs though, and I am flabbergasted that we haven't signed one yet.

We need ATTACKING full-backs, to complement our DMs, and provide width, so that our midfielders can dominate the central midfield and crush the opponent. The games these days are won in midfield, that's the truth.

Yaya, Silva are great additions to this philosophy. But we need to get rid of our full-backs to be able to compete at the top.

This is spot on, get those fullbacks added to the signings we are after and the title is within our grasp.

Yes, agree entirely mate. That little Argentinian Left Back looked useful last night.

Personally I prefer that Portuguese geezer.

He looked amazing against North Korea.

There are many reasons to be cheerful. Not least the fact that Mancini will complete the restructuring of the squad to his own design. By mid-August we should be able to see a pared down sqiad of some 26 players who are all to his liking.

Once the World Cup is out of the way on 11/7 then all his current targets should be at Eastlands within a week ( I don't see any of them being unveiled in the next 15 days).

The pre-season matches will be critical in fashioning a new City with a new sense of purpose. The only uncertainty here will be the time given to those City players involved in the tournament in South Africa who are likely to be given an extended leave from a return to training, esp. De Jong and Tevez with both Holland and Argentina looking like 'last 4' potential.

I'm still hoping that Roberto will end up signing the following:-

Boateng - signed
Burdisso
Milner
Dzeko
Silva
