just wondered lads what you make of the compromise rules series between ireland and austrailia,it's kinda viewed with suspicion here,just watched yesterdays test and thought it very sterile,since they've taken all the violence out

Boooo! Bring back the violence!

(I'm not Australian, but my brother is, so i feel i'm allowed to comment)

It is shit.

A bastardised game played by Victards and Irish butchers due to the fact that nobody outside a few states gives a fuck about either "sport".

No, but good on the plumbers for showing up those shirt-lifters, who are apparently "professional" athletes.
lol yeah it's not often amatuers get to put one over on they're professional counterparts,it's looked on here as a nice reward at the end of the season 3 weeks free in sunny oz,the lads are'nt as keen when its played here

I remember watching it when it first came back in Croke Park the Canal End was just knocked down and it was fucking freezing standing on the Hill but the only good thing about it was the fights. Have watched bits of it but it just isn't the same but well done to the lads beating the Aussies now they will poach our players for there Aussie Rules.

compare freezing your balls off here,getting the shite kicked out of you,having to train 3 or 4 times a week,getting up for work everyday to living in the sun picking up a hundred k a year for playing some ball,can't really blame any of the irish lads for giving it a lash

Agreed with Wheelsy; it's a mongrel sport. Neither one thing or the other. Looking back on the 2007 series (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA4U8zEMmLM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA4U8zEMmLM</a>), was there that many out and out 'fights'? It seemed to be more hard hits and grappling with one another. From looking at that video, there wasn't that many clean punches thrown or landed. At least, compared to;

I dont blame them but it will ruin our game if they poach some of the young good footballers we have playing. We will have to start paying our players good money to keep them from going over in another few years time which will be a shame. I would rather see them scrap these games.
