There's a thread in which posters are slating the kid Sterling. Earlier a thread was created, the author of which incorrectly thought the Evening News was slagging Sterling off and bigging up Tony Marshall of Salford. That thread got pulled, whereas the rather Negative Sterling one remains.

Is there a general purge to be negative on here? It seems any article that actually is positive about City is nit-picked to within an inch of its life for anything negative, and players and the manager have threads which are full of criticism by our own fans.

Why wasn't that thread allowed to stay? It was sarcastically comparing the two players, and at the same time praising the young lad Sterling.

Bluemoon is here for your enjoyment, and we try to moderate the forum as liberally as possible. However, there are certain guidelines that users should adhere to. Failure to do so could result in your account's access being limited, so please keep this in mind when posting or using the site.

  • Avoid shouting (i.e. ALL CAPS) in threads and txt spk, as it has a habit of annoying other users.
  • Don't post for the sake of it, just to boost your post count. It's about quality, not quantity.
  • Don't swear in thread titles. It can play havoc with people's work filters.
  • Don't start topics asking "where has my thread gone". Send a PM to one of the moderators instead.
  • Don't copy and paste articles from other publications, as it infringes copyright laws. Please provide links to any articles you wish to reference instead.
  • Avoid getting into personal arguments and derailing threads. Please keep it to private messages or, if necessary, use the ignore function.
  • Don't needlessly flap or overreact to things, particularly in the Matchday and Transfer forums. Football's obviously an emotive game, but there's no need for hysterical overreactions. It doesn't solve anything, and tends to cause arguments.
  • Don't advertise personal sites or products for sale without permission. Links to other sites are fine when relevant and appropriate to the thread, but spamming won't be tolerated.
  • Please treat the moderators with respect, and don't derail threads by questioning their decisions. Any issues with moderation should be brought to Ric rather than aired publicly.
  • Don't abuse or personally insult other members. Treat fellow users with respect.
  • Derogatory references to the Munich Air Disaster are forbidden. There are a million other things to take the piss out of United for, please use those.
  • Avoid inappropriate jokes on sensitive subject matters.
  • Wumming/trolling won't be tolerated. Fans of other clubs are welcome, as long as they are open about who they support and have a thick skin. Masquerading as a City fan won't be tolerated.
  • Don't sell tickets for games that you have no intention of going to, just to gain the extra loyalty points (i.e. point whoring).
  • Avoid posting anything libellous.
  • Don't wish injury on players, City or otherwise.
  • Don't post pornographic/violent/otherwise inappropriate imagery.
  • Threatening other members is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
  • Tickets can only be sold at face value, regardless of what you paid for it.
  • Racist/homophobic/misogynistic comments will not be tolerated.

As a new member, when you signed up you should have been presented with this screen, perhaps the fourth one down should be considered.

I moved the thread and I did it for three reasons:

1) As you correctly identified, the OP had got it wrong about the content of the article. The thread was therefore a bit embarrassing for him.
2) There's already a thread about Sterling in which the article had been discussed, as it was a few days old.
3) It broke forum rules about copying and pasting articles.

There's no "editorial line" on Bluemoon but we reserve the right to move and merge threads when we feel we need to.
