A s**t away end full of tourists

Rags have 2 systems. They have a protected loyalty pot(legacy high pointers) and a ballot other fans can enter (there are some rules to this). The loyalty pot have to apply for every game and a small proportion pick up in destination. You can transfer ur ticket (once or twice) but can easily be stripped of ur status if u break rules. When they introduce this over 10 years ago there were around 1300 legacy fans with protection. This group is now 600 or so. Rags published data for every away game detailing the number of tiks allocated to each group.
I had a Rag mate who i binned off for being too Raggy.
He was telling me that for one of the Ballots you had to be a season ticket holder and be in all of the cup scheme’s.
You had to apply for every away game (including cup games) and if you did get picked, that was your only away game and you were out of anymore ballots for the rest of the season to give others a chance.
Maybe this is the 2nd Ballot you mentioned?

He said this is why many people think the Rags away support is good.
You would be on the piss at 6am, have the best all-dayer ever, sing your arse off for 90mins knowing this is your one and only away game.

Makes sense if true

And those flexi-gold tickets, 600 I believe, sold out in 10 minutes, so will be deemed by the club to be a success. Will the club try it again for next season as there are a lot more seats to fill? It bodes badly for future full season tickets.
That's exactly as planned, give a season ticket up it'll be gone for good, well, until the Sheik is bored or we go into serious decline.

The worst I’ve ever seen it is the rags away a few seasons back, there was literally about 10 Chinese lads in our end, all carrying bags full of rag shit from their club shop … Cheeky twats..!
Don’t mind it so much at Home CL games but home and away games in the PL is ridiculous. They fill our coffers i suppose , I barely spend anything at the stadium, in fact some games I refuse to breath out

I see a lot of snide remarks about our Ticket Compliance Manager, but I doubt he'll be checking third-party touting companies as they appear to be doing business with the club's approval. Unless a large number of ticket holders are passing them on.

The thing is engagement with supporters is completely separate to rinsing supporters for profits.

I hate scousers, but compare how Liverpool run their ship. They are worse than City with some of their tactics for squeezing their support for cash, but they have their beat journos wrapped round their fingers to an avoid negative press. After the Paris champs league final they made very public their complaints. They got their MP stooges like Ian Byrne involved. If there is tragedy chanting they make public statements immediately, and they engage with Spirit of Shankly etc.

They have Tony Barrett, a scouser that used to be the LFC beat journo for the Times, running their communications team.

They make the supporters know they have got their back despite ripping them off.

We have radio silence all year round. Our mob said fuck all about Istanbul. They’ve never once said anything to our supporters about 115. No support in history has had to deal with the shit we have from the media and other supporters due to 115 on a daily basis yet not once has there been anything said to keep the support onboard.

We have a a CEO that to my knowledge has not said anything to any British media outlet or even our own internal media since the day he joined.

The Barca 8 example on Sunday was yet another fuck up. It’s gone viral round the world with millions of views and thousands of ‘plastic’ comments with silence from City.

No doubt tomorrow there will be a big group of empty seats in the South Stand behind the goal right in the best spot for tv cameras to pick up to get the rest of country sniggering.

It would be so easy to fix it but nobody at City is interested.
Well said mate. I wish Danny Wilson and the rest could read this.

Bit of casual racism there, it's a real concern that one of these day trippers will get attacked and killed at an away match. Or perhaps a loyal Asian supporter targeted because of a stereotype. City have a duty of care to sort this out

One way to look at it is, if he's Pep's dad then he should know better, shouldn't he?

It was downright disrespectful to be wearing Barca shirts in the City away end at a Liverpool-City match. There is a basic rule — basic! — you either wear the home shirt or the away shirt at a match, depending on where you are. Or no colours at all. That's it. And everybody knows it. Wonder how it would go down if I were in the Barca away end wearing a City top in the Real-Barca game? Sick of this disrespectful shit that we have to put up with.
I sincerely hope it wasn't his dad.

A ballot for away days is a huge gamble, if it's even being considered.

I assume with the ticket price cap, they'll then introduce another membership scheme that has annual subscription to even have a shout? Like the Cup scheme but the Away Days Scheme. Unless you only get on it with a season card or platinum membership?

I think the vast suite of existing memberships and schemes probably speaks volumes in itself.
