The plane dropped gradually from around 10-12,000 metres (30,000 feet) to 2,000 m -- slowly enough, Mr Robin said, that passengers would have been unaware anything was wrong.

Screams are only heard on the recording in the final moments.

"I think the victims were only aware at the very last moment. The screams are heard only in the last instants before the impact," Mr Robin said.

That's some comfort...I hope they weren't in terror for too long.

Funny you should say that. Because just today I was thinking I'm glad my simple mind believes in a heaven and a hell. Because that F'er is burning right now. And he deserves it.

But hey, I'm a simpleton so ignore that.

What a horrendous way to go.

Beyond horror really.

I am a reluctant and fairly frequent flyer and my heart goes out for the hundreds of devastated people who's lives have now changed.

Couple of things:

God forbid , if I was on that plane I would have known something was up pretty quickly after the start of that premature descent and I suspect the passengers would also,

Why is there no passenger mobile / social media .

I think they would have too. Especially experienced flyers. You can tell you're in a descent. Regarding messages from passengers it was a very remote area so not likely to be coverage I guess.

This is pure evil. No matter his state of mind it's evil. Murderer.

I don't get the bit about people not realising and the screams coming very late. If I'm on a plane and I see the captain locked out of the cockpit and then trying to kick the door in whilst shouting at the co-pilot and I was feeling that the plane was on the descent, I'd be screaming a lot earlier!

from what i head yesterday from some aviation expert on gmtv is that at 38,000 feet(7 miles) there is no coverage and by the time they knew something was up they had other things on their minds rather than posting media

Police searching 1 of the 2 properties Lubitz lived in say they have found a 'significant clue' as to why he acted like he did
