Aaron Wan-Bissaka (signed for United)

If we paid £55m for a 19 year full back old there'd be a meltdown on Twitter rn

He’s a good Premier League player but that’s his level, in my opinion he’ll never step up to the next level because he relies on pace and athleticism much like our own Kyle Walker. The game is certainly in this country is changing drastically because of fans demanding more and more that their teams plays attacking, possession based football and players without the highest technical ability will be found out very quickly. We’ve proved that you can have your cake and eat it, so now everyone wants a slice, other than that scum apparently.

I agree with the likeness to Walker. He’s an excellent 1-on-1 defender who rarely gets done by a wide player, at least not in a very defensive Palace system. How he steps up in a team that will play more offensively and leave more space will be interesting to see... particularly because as it stands United don’t have a right CB of any note to cover effectively.

Like Walker I think he’s limited on the ball and wouldn’t really have offered us much over our present incumbent, certainly not for £50m+.

Must admit that I've not watched a great deal of this kid, so I could be massively wrong, but from what I have seen of him everything seems a little "last ditch" because he is positionally naive

Be interesting to see what happens, hes got talent and had a breakthrough year without seemingly having the pressure and hype at youth level. Had some good coaching under Hodgson but hes walking into a bit of a car crash of a defence and team and will have a lot of pressure on him. Zaha mk2 or RB for the next 10 years, a risk that we are in a position to take but the rags are forced into.

Think city should let it be known they are interested just to push the price even higher

If he goes to United you’d have to question his advisors. It isn’t a massive step up right now. he’d get more from another year with little pressure playing every game at palace and then the chance to move on next year. If he goes to United now it will be for big big money, thus he will be expected to perform every week, probably beyond his current capabilities and he will be at a side that is rudderless. you can’t guarantee the manager will be there next year nevermind next season and it will be a lot harder for him to get out of United than palace if things don’t go well.
