Noticed that this article in the Abu Dhabi daily (The National) outlines some interesting facts about the job.

Soriano will also have responsibility for representing City at key meetings with Uefa, the game's governing bodies and broadcast partners. He will be the top man at City, reporting only to the owner in Abu Dhabi. He will be in charge of agreeing the transfer fees for incoming and outgoing players, plus the wages of any new City players..

But the real question is can he get us Messi for under £100million? :)

No one better for that particular mission than the guy who drew up his contract ;)

He's got to have hidden a 10m release clause in there somewhere for such an occasion, surely? :D

Can we assume then, that Khaldoon it taking a step backwards and possibly passing on some of his "job role"
Why would Soriano only be answerable to ADUG,unless Khaldoon is going to spend less time at City.He does appear to have other heavy workloads as well as his position at City.

Khaldoon is part of ADUG I believe so the chain of command is probably Sheikh Mansour (no real involvement) -> Khaldoon -> Soriano -> Marwood.
