Sinclair fee is touted as about £4m. That represents good business to me.

That would be very good deal for us.

Re: Adam Johnson

Not sure about johnson going, and sinclair coming in at least with aj he had a bit of trickery to his game, sinclair imo is one dimensional....then again im not the manager...

Re: Adam Johnson

Sad day for me, really liked AJ, think he would be more useful on the left but great signing for Sunderland and I wish him all the best

Re: Adam Johnson

Good Luck Adam, sad to see him go.

I think he will be regular for England from now on, and he will show that he is the best English winger.

I would say it is the other way round.

Sinclair is quick, fast and hes got pace. Very quick on the ball and off it which Johnson isn't.

For the reported 4m it is a deal well worth going for.

Unless Sinclair plays like absolute dogshit then we have weakened the squad for a bit of cash. That's the old City way.
He wanted to go and to be honest City could sign my dog and not weaken the squad.

Re: Adam Johnson

Good ability, not great application and became a moody fucker.

Am I sad he's gone....a bit, yeah.

Expect a wonder goal on his debut!

Re: Adam Johnson

Really not sure about Sinclair - one dimensional (as someone just said) will get little game time, give him a few weeks and his confidence will be shattered from trying to impress in the odd minute here and there. Hope I'm wrong but I don't have a good feeling about this one.

Re: Adam Johnson

He came on and we won the FA Cup.

He was in the top 1 or 3 finishers at the club, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets his goals near double figures and Sunderland.

with Sinclair's D list celeb gf he must go out a fair bit so aren't we replacing one "pretty talented in a couple of categories but mediocre in the rest lad who likes a night out on the town" with another?
What amazingly bad reasoning.

Re: Adam Johnson

Wasn't good enough to start regularly for us, too good to sit on the bench most of the time.

Seems a decent deal for all concerned.

I hope he does well at Sunderland.

He should probably get some sanatogen down him tho - always looked pale and unwell to me

Sinclair is a better fit at City than Johnson, and also provides many of the plus points as AJ with fewer drawbacks. He's also shone in a passing/domination based system at Swansea and along with Dyer was an outstanding performer there. I'm surprised he's costing us so little to be honest.

Have no problem with AJ, but he didn't fit our system and has quite probably found his level in a "might challenge for top six" side. The very highest levels are all about consistency and reliability, and we cannot hold on to him any more.

Sinclair is young yet experienced, paradoxically. He has room to grow in the squad, helps fulfill any homegrown quotas that may exist in the future and is an exciting player.

I think the question we need to ask ourselves, is whether Adam Johnson would ever become a world class player at City. Considering that he's 25 now, and as a tricky winger has about 5 years or so left in his career, the chances are slim.

Sinclair is two years younger and a better fit for the way we play, and it makes us a good few million. I see no drawback for City, Swansea, Johnson or Sinclair here, this is a rare deal that seems to suit all parties.

He got 15 with us...so is that double figures, or double what he got with us?
