Adam Johnson guilty - 6 year sentence

Yes or no - does anyone think he will play another premier league game again in his career?

Here's where I don't agree with you. Having set a standard then it means people are aware of what is deemed to be moral or not. If you don't meet that standard then, by definition, you are immoral. I know we all break the speed limit at times but the same concept applies. You are knowingly doing something that isn't legal.

So are you saying by not following the law while understanding it, it makes you immoral and therefore punishable? So, for instance, what would your reaction be to someone being sentenced for drinking beer in Saudi Arabia?

Wonder why he pled guilty to some charges but not the others. Often if they've got money they'll tough it out hoping a good QC will persuade the jury.
He pled guilty to some heavy petting stuff with two girls but denies full-blown sex with two others; the latter two charges are far more serious in sentencing terms, apparently. Either way, the man is toast.

So this involves more than one girl????

How would our courts view a situation whereby an Adult meets someone on an adult app such as Tinder, with the profile clearly stating the girl as being over 16, and the pictures on this profile showing a girl who is physically developed.
The conversation ensues as any normal chat, they find themselves happy with each other and decide to meet up.
The adult has sex with this girl.
This girl is in fact 15, lied to the guy, and the girls father finds the conversation on Tinder.

This is technically illegal, he is shagging a underage girl, but was under the illusion that she was over 16.
In the conversation in no way did it come apparent of her true age.

Verdict???

And I'm not saying this is what happened to AJ, I'm just wondering what your views and what the courts/police would proceed with.

Maybe because he did some of them and didn't do the others. The other possibility is that his lawyer has made a judgement and thinks this is his best chance of avoiding a prison term.
