Posted this in another thread, but thought it was probably worth a sticky too for anyone not familiar with how to do this.

On Android (using Chrome):
  1. Open the Chrome browser and go to the website of the PWA you want to install.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu (overflow menu) in the top right corner.
  3. Select "Add to Home Screen".
  4. Confirm by tapping "Add".
On iOS (using Safari):
  1. Open the Safari browser and go to the website of the PWA you want to install.
  2. Tap the "Share" button (square with an arrow pointing upwards).
  3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
  4. Tap "Add" in the top right corner.

Definitely worth doing as it makes things much easier, and allows you to get notifications etc.

On my phone at least (Android 10) you go to the website and tap the 3 dots (menu) and then select 'Add to Home screen'. Change the name if needed and select 'Add', then 'Add Automatically' or touch and hold to place it manually.
Yeah that's what I've done for years.

Tried adding again and it comes up as a B, my original save has the ship logo so it's business as usual with my old link.

You can also easily add a shortcut on your mobile so that the forum effectively works as an app, to save you having to type in the address each time. There's a simple guide here: https://www.turitop.com/how-to-save...my-smartphone-android-ios-and-windows-mobile/.

You really want to make it easier for nutjobs like me to post on here?

:)

If you have the Microsoft Edge app on your Android phone then you can set BM as a favourite, or as a page in a collection. You can also have it pop up at the top of the screen when you select open new tab (+).

Any ideas how to get rid of the 'Add Bluemoon to home screen' message that pops up on every page.
Please don't say just add it, problem solved.

That shouldn't be happening. What device are you on mate?

Using latest version of chrome on an oppo phone running Android.

Edit. I've deleted cookies browsing history etc and it seems to have gone for now.

@Moderating Team. Anyone other than ric that can look at this.

Something is up with my app. The colour scheme has changes so I can't see the buttons.

Looks like various buttons have genuinely disapered. Once in a thread I no longer have a link to 'new Content' at the top or bottom.

Try clearing your browser cache -google how to do that depending on device/browser

Every single page has the cookie pop up
If using Chrome then use either the first one for desktop/laptop or the 2nd for mobile. It'll save losing all of your logins, you'll just need to log back into BM.

I’m not the brightest when it comes to technology. But aren’t these just instructions on creating a short cut to the website, rather than an app. as per thread title?

It's called Webview and is a part of the operating system on your phone, it is used to display web pages from any supporting App (including obviously, the browser) so yes, it an App. It cuts out the address bars and extra tabs to give a clean view. It can also be used for logins to FB ect so you would have been using it for a long while without realising it.

Sort of, but it's called a Progressive Web App (PWA) - allows it to act more like a conventional app with notifications etc.
