Ran his backside off last night, ok it didnt work for him, but there were no questions about his workrate

-- Fri Oct 01, 2010 9:52 am --

please merge, sorry just seen the other topic lol

He didn't have the best of games with his first touch being off due to coming back from injury but you would be harsh to fault his effort. On another day some of the things he tried would come off and we'd be saying what a great game he had. I'd rather see him try and fail than 'play safe'.

I agree he worked very hard and it just didn't quite happen for him.

Some clowns round me booed him off.

I stood up and gave them some shit. It was pathetic. What good does that do anyone?

That was his first proper game of the season, can't be too harsh on him as like many said, he did work hard but that touch and pass will improve with more games!

Second half touch improved and there was one half-chance where he attempted to take it on his chest that reminded me of goal he scored against Jaskelainen v. The Trotters' Arms. Mancini will not allow him to amble through a game content only with gilt-edged chances.

Must have been watching a different game to me. Lazy, didn't look bothered and was caught dozing on more than one occasion when he would have been through on goal.

Definitely watched a different game.

I thought the difference in his work rate was obvious.

Once he wasn't looking when a stray ball came his way, it was a freak incident. Can't remember what it was exactly. But if you are making runs you don't watch the ball 100% of the time.

It disappoints me he is becoming a scapegoat.

Get some balls in the box and he'll get goals. I'm not saying he's the long term solution but I think he's fine.

I hate fans calling players lazy, by the way.

Fair enough, respect your opinion but that's how I saw it. He's lacking confidence and needs goals to get it back, I would just like to see his work rate improve.

I agree he needs something to run for him.

He doesn't really suit the way we played either.

I'd gave loved to have seen SWP getting to the line and firing balls in last night. They looked uncomfortable with balls into the box.

He loves that kind of service.

But I honestly thought to myself that it was obvious that Mancini has told him to harry and try to win the ball back high up the park, like Tevez does.
