Nah. Essentially the only way you'd be getting Bale is if you paid for our new stadium outright. So many times you see on here that if you gave us AJ, RSC and 8 million that'd probably do. Bale's with us until 2016 now, he obviously sees a good future at the club, and also has seen the way mean old mr Levy kept Modric here last season yet he still signed an extension, what does that tell you?

If Levy rates Bale at £400m, then could you imagine how much he would rate a genuine, top quality player like Kompany, Silva, Balotelli, Aguero etc.? £1bn?

I would say that Levy's dealings in teh transfer market will ensure Tottenham never win the league while he is in charge. Spurs fans treat him like a messiah but I think he is the one holding the club back. I find it amusing that the majority of Spurs fans cannot see it.

It's not that he thinks Bale is worth 400m, its that if you try to buy him that'll be the price. It's a moot point anyway I guess as I don't think Mancini would spend big money on a player like Bale.

It's not how much Levy "rates" anyone, there are more factors to involve such as the player's contract, agent, the financial situation of the owner of the player's contract, the position of the team, the squad the player plays in blah blah blah

Saying Levy is holding Spurs back is an interesting opinion, massive threads on GG have waged these arguments, but I always find those discussion get lost in false statistics and vague terminology.

Obviously with Chelsea and Man City's emergance in recent years the prospect of winning a title in the near future is a big ask but I don't think that is Levy's fault. Whoever was in charge we wouldn't be in with a shout for a title unless a ridiculous amount of money was to be put in and that looks fairly unlikely if the whole FFP comes in to play and works.

I wish we had Levy conducting our transfer negotiations.

He seems very canny when it comes to that sort of stuff.

I think Levy would have seen you comfortably into the top 4 if we hadn't come along, albeit likely only 4th. More a case of very bad timing for him with our takeover. He'd pumped a lot of money in prior to that hadn't he?

Re: Adebayor

Well AVB must have realized by now that in what mess he has got himself to.
He has to deal with a manager who is penny pincher and just to save few weeks wages is dragging on the Adebayor Saga.....and is not willing to resolve the Modric Sage either,,,,anyways non of our problem.....Ade can very well rot in reserves for 2 years and Spurs can make do with Defor and there standby Falcao..lol........

-- Wed Aug 08, 2012 9:43 pm --

Well AVB must have realized by now that in what mess he has got himself to.

Not bad. And finally, without using Google or Wikipedia etc., who or what is Gillingham?
