Re: Adebayor

I still think he'll end up at Spuds! Only on loan though I'd imagine.
I know it's frustraing having to constantly loan our "dead wood" out, but in Adebayor's case, I quite like it. Especially when we loan him out in this country.
Like him or loathe him, he is a very good player, which means he gets regular game time, in effect scoring goals against our rivlas, and then when we have to play against his loan team, he cant play against us! I thought it was a pretty beneficial scenario last season!

Agreed fella, people like Roque and Bridge are proper deadwood, we can take a 2/3mil loan fee for Ade and get 100k of his wages paid each week, that's a pretty similar deal to us actually selling him.

Re: Adebayor

no been in our plans for a couple of seasons ,and we need to get rid ,to make room for some new players ,cant keep draining our resorces with players on the sort of wages adi is on

Re: Adebayor

It would appear that City are playing hard ball.
The press consensus is that Ade has been told there will be no loan for Ade (unless he is definerchased (or is being purchased by the club being loaned too next summer). City briefed the press on the Tevez situation from November onwards - so this is probably the case her baring in mind some of the comments. Also as Ade has probably done nothing but talk to the press for 3 years (it is unlikely to be a coincidence that City dressing room stories stopped leaking to the press after Ade and Bellers left) then these stories are probably true.

Definitely, I think Marwood has been given the task of stopping the club haemorraging money. Previous regimes have saddled us with players we can't shift due to wages. Mancini doesn't like Marwood because he doesn't get the players he wants and Marwood can't win as players refuse to move. Ade asking for £5m fee takes the piss. If we do not benefit, why strengthen a rival. Bit of a catch 22 but if Marwood stays strong the club will benefit in 2/3 years time.

You might be right there but why should he lose out on the contract we gave him?! For me it's up to spurs to Coff up the money! Spurs laying out 5m to us and 5m to Ade + his 100k a week for me is a cracking deal for a player who was an integral part in there team and made em tick..

and all the players who are struggling today to find a club.

Question - Does the FIFA/UEFA rule apply that if they do not feature in 10% of the senior games that they can tear up the contract and move??

I thought it was the player not the club who could appeal to have his contract terminated in that situation?

Sorry you may be right. The player can request to have the contract terminated. Not sure whether this can apply to him or not?

I presume he could request that his contract be terminated, but as he seems quite happy to pick up his pay from us rather than take a pay cut to leave why would he? Only way we can get rid of him seems to be to find someone who'll match his wages which doesn't seem very likely.

Re: Adebayor

Spurs have moved on as there closing in on Damiao and Falcao now, It's upto City to do something special and bring Levy back to the table.

What like loan him to you for a season with subsidised wages, Falcao comng to spuds is just about the most absurd thing I've ever heard.
