I would give him a take it or leave it offer.

You either sign your contract with Tottenham and fuck off or we are sending you on loan to Al Wahda Sports Cultural Club.

I believe Adebayor and Levy are simply playing "hard ball" and trying to screw us for the maximum money they can. Both will be aware of the much publicised, self imposed club policy of "sell before we buy"!
Both will be looking to damage their rivals, (ie us), as much as they can.

All very well but Spurs in the meantime will lose first couple of games without a strike force and ultimately come season end that may well prove more expensive than the couple of million they MIGHT save now. You assume City will pay the price. Levy on this occasion may just have to give for once.
We cant know if Spurs will win their first matches or not. They played with Bale as a lone striker in US tour and Defoe is under rated IMO.
I would love to turn the tables on Levy and leave him high and dry. It's easy to suspect collusion between Spurs and Adebayor on this one.

Bale looks to be injured, doubtful if he will play in the opening game or not..

I have to say I agree. I have been defending Ade for a while, but he really does need to shift his arse off our books.

I would have in Carrington, all day, every day on rules of the game training videos. No football, no training, no larking about, just sitting in a room on his own 9 to 5:30 every day, fined if he doesn't show up. He'd be gone in a week.

-- Fri Aug 17, 2012 2:27 pm --

I don't want him to go. I want us to make the greedy twat rot in the reserves at Ewan Fields on a tuesday night.

Horrible, horrible man.

I don't get this let him rot in the reserves attitude. Why the fuck should this oxygen thief get the chance to contaminate the youth team. He would set the worst possible example for them and their development.

Just make him train on his own

Better, make him NOT train on his own. Players usually like keeping in shape. I'd feed him PIES 12 hours a day with no footy and no training.

IMO now the RVP and any of our strikers leaving is over, the longer we leave this the more pressure is heaped on Spurs to get him. The clock is ticking for Spurs and as yet they have only one striker, might be enough against Newcastle on opening day but won't help them for the rest of the season. Hold tight, if we do get to the last day and they have still only one striker, his value should rise 1m per hour. If they get someone else Ade will only have himself to blame and it will only cost the club 2.5m until Jan.

You forgot the word piffling. "it will only cost the club a piffling 2.5m until Jan".

He will bleed us dry and wait until the last possible second to depart and no doubt will then slag us and Mancini at every turn.

Just like Tevez and his bitch tried last season ??
No chance ! Khaldoon has already shown he will not be dictated to by anyone and certainly not from a pair of pricks like Levy and Ade.
Let the pair of `em sweat.

well we did let bellamy go on a free

it's very difficult to believe that a team like Spurs with Champions League ambitions can go into the start of the new season with just one striker - Defoe.

Levy isn't the genius that many (including all Spurs fans) give him credit for. He's been at Tottenham for 11 years and in that time he's employed half a dozen managers and the club has won a single League Cup.

Last year Chelsea offered £40million for Modric but Levy chose not to sell, this season he'll go for around £30million maximum, a decision that cost his club in excess of £12million and they finished in the Europa League.

Does anyone know where Adebayor actually is?

He can't be training with Spurs, he's not training with us... how come we bend over backwards again to pay him £170k a week for his extended holidays?

Why are we still being seen as such a fucking soft touch?

Whoever is in charge of this deal from our end needs a good bollocking. Get him down to Platt Lane for the next ten days doing an eight hour shift with the kids. Make it unpleasant for him to remain, let him know what the next two years will feel like!

Same goes for Michael Johnson...

Dont think anything will happen with Adebayor before the last week of August. So 10 days more before we see real movement. Until that he earns huge weekly cash at us and not at his new club.

Dont like Spurs particularly but TBF they finished above Chelsea in the League and if Barca (Messi) and Bayern (Robben) hadnt missed penalties in CL they would be in that comp. above Chelsea. In addition many supporters think Fulop was corrupt in the last game against Arsenal and Spurs should have got 3rd place in PL. (If this was Olympics Fulop would probably have been publicly disgraced like in the Badminton).

Don't agree with this with relatively low spending they have achieved two 5th place finished, carling cup and two 4th place finishes.

He was in charge, he gambled and lost; it's his fault regardless of circumstance. It's not just hindsight that suggests taking the £40million from Chelsea and investing it in the squad would have been a wiser decision, he was also left with a player that was far from 100% committed to the cause.

You cant deny he was extremely unlucky last season that 4th place was not enough to get CL football and corruption probably denied him 3rd place.

It's a bit harsh to jusge a CEO/Chairman on the strength of one transfer deal.

Look at his acheievements Spurs over the past 5-6 years... outstanding.

Less money thn Liverpool and have eclipsed them. Less money than City and topped them only two years ago.

Less money than Chelsea and topped them last season.

While he might be following the Arsenal business model of "doing just enough", it's a far cry from the days when Spurs were a slap-bang middle of the table club of just a few years earlier. If we hadn't have won the lottery, we would all be on here begging for a CEO of that quality.

With Ac Milan and Juventus desperate for a big forward, if we are going to give him away why not give him away to a club out of the league ?

I just dont get it. The deals rumoured for this player make us a laughing stock.

The beggars of europe are always on the look out for good players for no money send him over there I say or he can play in the reserves side.

Its got to a point where we have to make a stand with players like this. Worked with Tevez.

Just on Defoe, lets put the cards on the table he is a bit shit these days. He did nothing last season and very little the season before. Hes also injury prone and getting on a bit. They are also just about the loose Modric, their best player by far who made most of their assists. They wont be able to replace with anything like equal quality.

I just wouldnt deal with Spurs anymore. If he wants a free he can have a free out of the premier league.

We didn't win the lottery... We had the best potential for growth and the best infrastructure already in place.
