It seems that RM is banking on Tevez and Ade to get us 4th spot.

Given that they don't seem natural partners so far I wonder if his could work.

We don't want to push Tevez out wide. And we don't want Ade drifting out wide either.

So how about our usual front three. Johnson, Tevez, Bellamy with Adebayor playing as an attacking midfielder. I can see him causing quite a bit of chaos driving forward centrally.

Put de Jong and Barry behind him.

I think in the past because he is bigger than Tevez he has played further forward. However I think they may be better the other way round.

we'll probably play 4-2-2-2 with Barry & Vieira the holding mids, and Johnno & Bells out wide.
I'd like to see de Jong & Vieira get the nod as holding mids but doubt he'd leve Barry out.

my current team:

.......................................given.....................................
Toure.............richards......................kompany..........garrido
..........................zabaleta.............de jong........................
........................................tevez....................................
..............bellamy........................................johnson..........
........................................adebayor................................

couple of points here:

Toure: his great attacking runs against everton show he should be given a chance at right back. also, i maintain richards is a natural CB, as the sven season with him and dunne showed

Tevez: in my opinion, he just doent sync with ade at all. i reckon he needs to be put in a free role behind the front 3 to help create (this is the role ireland would usually be in, but currently he is as much use as negaoui)

wingers: adam johnson is a natural left winger, and it isnt writen in gospel bellers needs to be on the left. if bellamy can make plenty of runs in the box i feel he could win us a penalty or 2 and cause the left back no end of problems

The only way you'll keep Ade in the middle is to tie him to a steak in the ground so that won't work, you want to put our main goal threat Tevez further out from goal and switch our two wide men off the flanks where they've looked at their best....hmmmmmmmmmm!

My OP suggested Tevez up top with Ade roving behind. AJ right and Bellamy left. Just reckon Adebayors power running from deep and his general nuisance factor could cause defences problems from there.

Sorry..............but i just dont think Tevez and Adebayor will make a front 2 pairing.

Sometimes these things work and sometimes they dont...........this is a dont. I can recall one bit of play between the 2 all seaon that has resulted in a goal ( home to Wolves ). i cant see any chemistry betwwen the pair.

I would not have Adebayour in the starting line up tonight.

No need to accomodate anyone if it is not beneficial to the team.

i think they could play right beside each other. given time these two could really form a great partnership and hopwfully bring us to top 4. come on cityyyy

i think if Ade plays then AJ plays on the right because Ade is never in the box for a driven cross because of his CONSTANT DRIFTING!!!!!!
if you play RSC i'd stick AJ on the left and have him looking for santa cruz.
we saw against sunderland at home that tevez and bellamy like playing with santa cruz because he makes chances for them with his knockdowns. Ade can't win a header and can't win the ball in the air so i kind of agree with the OP that Ade would be better from deep.

Not strictly true regarding Ade's aerial ability. Running on to a ball and facing the opponent's goal there are not many better, he just refuses to jump with his back to goal.

Mancini should be telling him to operate through the middle and if he starts to drift bollock him. If he continues to do it then haul him off.

He can't just do what he wants and we need him through the middle, not out wide.

you never heard of Rob Yeada ?? that well known one eyed basket maker from cornwall..

Course i've heard of her but the rules state that names are not words.

And the correct term for a basket weaver is 'ratatatatanist'.
At the risk of showing my age...

Chanson, d'amour....ratatatatanist, play encore.....

The majority of Ades goals this season were headers. so thers no questioning hes Aerial Ability
