Adebayor on £225k a week

Bent 'arry in bullshit shocker.

Just feeding his meeja mates with the shit they require to sell papers.

Independent:

They are also paying out over £100,000 a week of Emmanuel Adebayor's salary, leaving City paying less than £50,000 and retaining his image rights.

Telegraph:

Tottenham’s emergence as title contenders has been influenced by the loan signing of Emmanuel Adebayor from City, with Spurs paying in excess of £100,000 a week of his £160,000 weekly wage at the Etihad Stadium.

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, as Tottenham's top earners are on around £65,000 a week.

To put that in some kind of context, Joey Barton is on £80,000 a week at Queens Park Rangers.

All the more reason for a serious offer to Dumbo. 18-20m plus A.J and maybe Pienaar/Krancjar(sp) in exchange, or better yet, one of their 302 experienced Cb's.

FFS, can't he keep his big gob shut about our money. Unlike quite a few City fans I've always thought in the back of my mind 'Arry was a bit of a character and doing a good job but lately he's being an absolute ****. I'm starting to despise the twat now, especially with the Demba Ba leaking - i still think Pardew should chin 'Arry next time he sees him.

There probably is a possibility that Ade is on £225k/week, but I would bet my mortage that the £65k above the reported £160k salary is made up of performance bonuses, image rights, team performance bonuses and if the stars align and he scores a hat-trick every game and we win the quadruple he'd get the equivalent of that.

Just like I'm sure there's a whole bunch of bonuses not reported when the Spurs salaries are quoted.

As an aside, if Spurs salaries are that low, then come summer they are going to have real difficulty retaining their stars or signing a top class striker when the big boys come sniffing like Chelsea, rags, Real, Barca. They made it with Modric last summer but how long can you keep a player who earns £65k/week if he knows he could earn £100k+ a week playing elsewhere (at least 50% pay rise minimum). Either their salary structure will break or they'll have to sell.

heard a spurs fan on radio the other day saying ade, after great start, now looking disinterested and only seems up for big games - sound familiar?

He's been shit for them. I don't understand why this isn't obvious to everyone

Why isit Redknapp never knows how much his own players are on "i dont deal with that the chairman does", but he knows everyone elses valuation and wage?

I'm pretty sure your not meant to divulge imformation about other clubs contract dealings either, even if it was snuck in to a charming anecdote, it isn't cool. As with most other Spurs fans I'm, I'd much rather see the talking being done on the pitch.

Redknapp lower than a rattlesnakes belly, what is it with this guy, some of the shite I hear about city is bordering on illegal, especially his squeaky clean son who has tried to create a hate campaign against one of our players which for me had been bordering on racism.

9 goals and 7 assists in Adebayor's 18 Premier League games played so far this season is hardly "shit".

In fact, I'd say it was rather spiffing!

So where does that put him in the goalscorers list? You'd expect a Spurs centre-forward to be right at the top as you create so many chances.

The one obvious area where Spurs can improve is the centre-forward position - although it's next to impossible to do it in January.

ade is a nice bloke. but he s thick.....he has all the talent to be a 30 goal a season striker. he needs a personal motivator! he started the same for us....after ten games or so he jogged round the pitch and never bust a gut running.

it seems that is the way he is! he is way over paid.... his wages should be a third of what they are. NO MORE!!!

i don t expect much to be added to his season tally from here on in.

as for the core of the spurs team.... bale, parker and VDV are playing well. modric, lennon and defoe are getting back to top form. i think ade has just got into the core of a good team.... with the wide football they play of course ade will make assists and tap in a few.

Adebayor has the second best strike-rate of any Spurs player during the Premier League Era.

Only Jurgen Klinsmann has a better record...

He's doing well. But he's not scoring at the rate of Dzeko, Aguero, RVP, Rooney etc.

If you want to win the League you need a centre-forward who will score more goals
