This season, he's scored 11 goals in 20 games. This has gone un-noticed by some of our fans. At the start of the season he had 4 in 4. The suspension took it out of him and he has struggled for form, but yesterday... I thought he had a blinder! If you watch our third goal again (after 7 minutes, he he he), you see his movement for the ball... it was incredible! He looks so hungry for it. He and Tevez may have finally cracked it, and at the right time too.

Come on Ade, and come on City... we know you can do it.

Any striker would be happy with that return. Given what's happened to him this season and how disrupted his campaign has been, quite remarkable really.

i knew he would play good yday after my mate slated him before the match saying him and tevez play crap together i said just you wait watch him play really good and score..and he proved me right

chuffed for the lad

Good post. I was worried Ade and Tevez couldn't play well together but hopefully last been put to bed now.

He needs to play like that all the time. I think he was lucky to keep his place in the team after Mondays game but showed his worth by taking his chances well. I hope he can up his game and keep focused from now till the end of the season with the Arsenal and Rags game back to back we need him to help out Tevez by putting in a shift with and without the ball.

Looks like he's rediscovered his desire and confidence again just at the right time.
Come on Ade!

"it was incredible!" A little OTT but yes he played well yesterday. The overall return is good but like many others I hope he gets consistency from here to the end as that would be just what we need to clinch 4th.

Good shout, I really like Adebayor and that is an impressive goal return. Just a shame that with Tevez not having a pre season and not being at full fitness at the start of the season, then Ade's ban, then the Angola shooting, then another ban for Ade (the stoke game) their partnership hasn't had that much playing time and like someone said hopefully they can click now when it matter most, yesterday was certainly encouraging in that respect!

Me. His movement and hunger for that that third goal of ours was incredible.

Adebayor's always scored goals .......

the only things that have worried me about him is that he seems to attract controversy .... and his constant past referrings to Arsenal

...... with a bit of luck he'll grow out of it!

It was a great performance yesterday, but that's the most effort I've seen him put into a City performance, and I want to see it every week like we do from Tevez and Bellamy.

Also It's his fault he's missed 7 games this season, 7 crucial games that cost us points, so yeah, he's not a saint and want his act cleaning up for next season.

I thought he started the Wigan game well but got increasingly frustrated as it went on. The early goal yesterday could make the difference to his end of season. Good to see Bells scoring as well after some of the stuff rumoured after the Everton debacle. Hope a settled side can see us win four or five more games, should be enough

The partnership between Ade and Carlos looked very promising yesterday (granted; against piss poor opposition, but you can only play your opponent on any particular day).

He was rusty on Monday with the 4 match ban coming so soon after his absence in Africa - cut the guy a bit of slack, a 1 in 2 strike rate in a much-interrupted season suggests he could be even better with a long run in the team.
