You won't get much better than the Nexus mate. Bought one the eldest for Xmas & it's a great bit of kit. Easily on par with those fruit named products.
I agree with this. My eldest has one too, and it's fast, light, access to Google Play etc etc. There is no reason to pay more for a tablet that will do exactly the same as this one does.
I'm using it right now.
I genuinely thought I'd have no use for it, but mrsmcfc bought me one for Christmas and i'm never off the bastard thing.
I'll get one myself eventually, but can never justify buying something I can do on my phone or laptop when other costs crop up.

I have got a Nexus 7 and it is a nice piece of kit but the battery life on it is a joke, the same goes for the Kindle Fire.

Even turning everything off (wifi, bluetooth etc) it just eats up the power.

Think you'll be disappointed with the 7" go for the 10" I think the carphone warehouse are doing the Galaxy GT P5110 for about £230.

-- Fri Jun 14, 2013 1:23 pm --

Think you'll be disappointed with the 7" go for the 10" I think the carphone warehouse are doing the Galaxy GT P5110 for about £230.

Something to bear in mind is if you are considering the 10" tablets is that Sky Go is not supported on them...only the 7" tablets

I got an anorva 10 g8 for £120 out of hmv before it closed. Can be a bit slow at times but I can download, open zip files and it has a brilliant HD screen for watching movies and the
Aldiko book app works a treat.
Ideal for my train journeys for the football and work.

Nexus is good, ive got a samsung tab 7" which is great, also got a blackberry tab which hasn't been switched on for 6 months or so, useless bit of kit.

Dont get the Blackberry Playbook, loads of problems with the usb connecter which breaks easily and Currys wont replace the machine so you have to send it back to manufacturers to fix. PITA.
