Oh Manchester, is wonderful....
Something that's been on mind for a while this as the groundhog matchdays keep happening week after week.

Do you try as hard in your work as you get older? In the past I've worked for the old duffer who feels like he has 'put his work in' and is seeing out the last few years of his working life doing as little as possible. It's hard to give a fuck when they don't.

MP had this incredible reputation coming into the club as this tactical mastermind who could 'engineer' results with his detailed pre match preparation and in game decisions. We have seen very little of this over the last few years and despite the soundbites it just feels like the old fella is mailing it in at this point. If you have eyes, it's obvious that theres no way we are preparing for our opponents as we should and (generally) the games in which we do well are ones where our opponents preparation and attitude is worse than ours.

So, this brings me back to my original question....is the drive to put in the time and effort behind the scenes what it once was as you crack on?

I honestly believe Pep will be a shot in the arm for this squad and it will take far less time for them to get on his page than some think. We are crying out for a leader and I for one cannot wait til we get one.

You have to admire the guy who sold Pellers to the fans as a tactical mastermind who could engineer results with detailed match prep and in game decisions...

For most of my thirties I was a lazy **** and an all round dilettante, whereas in my forties I now work insanely hard most of the time and absolutely love it.

If you find something you love, that motivates and stimulates you, then your age is nugatory - as long as you've got your health, of course.

I call this phenomenon "retired in place" (RIP) for folks that don't want to actually retire for whatever reason but are just clocking time. They are damaging to the morale of the workforce as you alluded to above. Does Pellegrini fall into this category? I wouldn't argue against.

There's plenty I love and which motivates me, but proud to say work certainly isn't one of them and the day it is, will be the day I've given up on life

English language was not my strongest subject but I sometimes wonder if you once swallowed a dictionary ;-)

I was under the impression he died a couple of years ago. As the club didn't want the hassle of finding another manager before Pep arrived, they had him stuffed, thinking we would get by.
