De Jong's transfer to us is common knowledge.
It's not about De Jong - it's a 23 yera old, playing in Germany, with 35 international appearances, available and he's pointed out to City that the player is borderline world class but City don't seem bothered................

It sounded like he was saying that he had a player that City SHOULD be interested in and not that we ARE interested in.
Every man and his dog will be trying to flog their client to City as they know we are in a situation where we have to pay over the odds to get new players to the club.
Nearly every club in the bottom half of the premiership or should I say from Wigan down doesn't want to lose their best players and if they have to will make sure they get top dollar for them.
What we should do is make one offer to a club who has a player who will improve our team and be done with it.
If they are interested they will come back to chase us not the other way around.
We can afford to be brutal if we really want to in the market and we should be just as brutal if not more if we are looking to offload a player.
If Chelsea wanted Robby we should say give us Terry , Lampard , Cech , Anelka in return and we may consider it.
