He was. Tried to chip it over the keeper to a teammate - should have blasted it. I'll forgive him.Aguero by a country mile, just a shame he wasn't given the chance to win the champions league final.
Now you're talking.
Vintage performance that was from Barca. Back in the days of 3 foreigners I think.
I find it hard to split Romario and Aguero tbh, trying to be objective.
I think Aguero was playing at the top level for longer club wise but that said Romario also had a more decorated international career so it's how you want to define things. Both great goalscorers and both great players.
I'm fond of sitting on fences...
Good shout with Stoichkov. He and Ruben Sosa had dynamite in their left feet.
Saw him do it on a cold wet Wednesday in Keerkrade playing for PSV. Outstanding.Never saw Romario do it on a cold wet November Wednesday in Stoke
As true of Romario as it is of Pele.Proven both club and international level. 1000 goals in total.
Come on, G! You'd have picked Corradi over Romario!Romario
Hey, we FOCs in CBL3 could have done it in Keerkrade any day of any shitty month in the depths of a continental winter!Saw him do it on a cold wet Wednesday in Keerkrade playing for PSV. Outstanding.
I actually saw one of Romario's final games in Brazil (Rio) round about 2005. As I recall it was the game where he was supposed to have scored his 1000th professional goal (it later transpired that the goal he scored that day for Vasco de Gama was actually his 999th). Bobby Robson rated him highly. For my part Aguero is well ahead. Analysis of Romario's career is far inferior to a player who spent 10 years in the premier league, won a sackful of trophies, and scored 184 premier league goals.I remember In the first few years, the comparisons of Aguero always used to be against Romario. I am lucky enough to remember Romario.
