Apologies if this topic has been covered by the collective but as we all know time waits for no man. One of the greatest strikers ever to have played the game in England and City's greatest striker ever is 31 and there will be a time when we will have to say goodbye to the great man.

Alas, one door closes and another one opens i.e. the club and fans will hopefully be able to enjoy the delights of another striker. On that note, I've been watching another Argentinian strut his stuff this evening: a certain Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan.

A lethal mixture of Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero that could possibly fill a huge Aguero sized hole up front. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on any other "crack" out there who could do the same just in case the brains trust at CFG are looking for inspiration here on these pages.

Don't think he will go for another 12 months. Goal scoring doesn't seem to be a problem. Power in midfield is an issue. That and a specialist left back (but not Chilwell!) would be what I'd be looking at.

He looks like a young Sergio and we should pay the release fee to get him. Reports say 111m Euro about £95m.

No one is writing him off, but we can't let the David Silva situation happen with Sergio. Age has caught up with Silva's legs and it's so sad to see.

We have to be ready when a replacement for Sergio is available, it's almost an impossible task, and one that is going to cost 100m plus of the queens finest.

Personally I hope we break the bank for Kylian Mbappé, the finest talent of this generation and a player who could be our figurehead for years.

That I would like to see but I suspect City are not in the market for a talent at that price.
