He's not bad but I don't understand why we'd go for him, surely we're going to have a considerable transfer budget with the sales of Tevez, Adebayor, and De Jong (with others like Kolarov and Johnson by no means assured of staying, and fringe players like Weiss likely to fetch decent transfer fees), so we could go for a real top class defender. Albiol would not be a bad addition but for me it'd be like a step sideways for the defence than the major upgrade we probably need for the Champions League where our usually steady defence suddenly didn't look so good!
We don't need an upgrade, we have the best defence in the most attacking league in the world. We need someone who can come in and maintain the same quality and ethos; good in the air but can pass a ball and keep composed. Albiol fits all of the boxes.
And with a near £200m deficit to make up, I wouldn't expect any big deals in the summer at all.

Kolo will be gone in the summer and savic will probably go out on loan so we will need a centre back, I would get someone like thiago silva who ive watched quite alot off and been impressed by or hummels who got great reviews but personally never seen him play.
