Album of the day - Michael Jackson (Bad)

Correct, literally just checked it a few minutes ago haha! Ye, not many artists would take a 5 year gap and then disperse the singles of that new album out over 2 years after coming off the success of an album like Thriller. Anyone can put up what they want, MJ was the ultimate showman and like you said owned the 80's but what's interesting to me is that he isn't often the vocal point of 80's nostalgia like you'd think he should be and I feel part of the reason is his music is often timeless and you don't automatically think 80's when you hear his stuff from that time period.
He was a great musician but off the rails behind closed doors. Such a shame the majority of the greatest musical artists needed meds to get through a day. But like you say his music is timeless, listening to thriller or Billie Jean still gives me the same buzz as 30 odd years ago.

Aye it's horrible especially in Jacksons case as he was forced and abused into it, he was mentally scarred from a young age and then had a littany of illness's ( lupus, vitiligo, burnt scalp, dysmorphia etc ) what seemed like a luxurious life with money, fame and success doesn't always turn out great.

Billie Jean's baseline is one of the best but I think the one song that matches it and absolutely no one is not going to smile and toe tap when it comes is Don't Stop Til You Get Enough. A 70's tune which still smashes it today.

Edit: I'm actually jealous of people who got to grow up in an era of must hear music. Never been hyped to hear anything in my life from an artist in my own era

Absolutely stunning tune. In my opinion he never bettered it.

Not my favourite due to nostalgic reasons ( They Don't Care About Us is the first song I ever remember hearing ) but I may not be able to argue this as every time I hear it, it gets better and better. The demo is amazing as well, him his brother and sister are using bottles and riffing, its awesome.

Not heard that, I'll have to try and dig it out.
