Gearing up to be our left sided centre back in a 3 with Otamendi and Stones, just wait. He will be decent there too i bet.
I'm someone who doesn't rate him highly at all. However he did ok against Sunderland. The main thing was he was playing simple passes instead of whacking the ball just for the fun of it. However defensively he was still jumping into tackles to late. Against better opposition he would be punished for it. So despite him doing well on the weekend, I wouldn't get to carried away.
Particularly when most of these players have made us champions and are champions. Ignorant to say the least.Me too mate, "fans" calling for any players' head should fuck right off, the manager decides when a players time is up at City. Until that happens you should support all our boys in blue. Same goes for the cunts calling for zaba, yaya, clichy, sagna, navas, hart, mangala et al to retire/leave
I think Kolarov could have done more for their goal, the blame for having such a huge gap between our central defenders needs to be shared,
Defoe was between Sagna and Stones and closer to Sagna - Stones stepped out to try and close down Rodwell but failed to prevent the pass and Sagna lost Defoe. Of the three, Kolarov was the least at fault in my view.
I understand your point about the distance between the CBs but in that top picture, if Kolarov is too central then Borini has a clear run into the box if Januzaj releases the ball at that point. As I say blame has to be shared, and the combination of a young CB in his 1st game in a new team, along side a LB playing (surprisingly alright - give Kolarov his due) at CB results in some positioning issues.
MOTD pundits picked up on it; When stones went out, I feel a more experienced CB like Kompany would have gotten himself into a more central position in order to limit the space defoe had to run into (between Sagna and Kolarov, considering Stones had vacated to charge down the player on the ball).
I saw Kompany have the where with all to cover Otamendi last season when he went out to close down, and this isn't necessarily a dig at Kolarov as he's not naturally a CB, but I felt he could have limited the space between himself and Sagna. Have a look below.
It's nit picking I know
As one of kolarovs biggest fans..and boy have I defended and praised him on here..then pep comes out and says this..I'm loving this.I don't like slagging any of our players off..if they wear the shirt.I get behind them.

Were Delph and Fernandinho asking each other what they watched on tele the night before? As I say blame has to be shared, and the combination of a young CB in his 1st game in a new team, along side a LB playing (surprisingly alright - give Kolarov his due) at CB results in some positioning issues.
