Not particularly good news that Alexs' injury has been confirmed as Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL)

Club Confirmation

Whilst the club seem pleased its not an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) this will still be a lengthy stay on the sidelines for the captain which will leave a gaping hole on one side of our central defence that Kennedy alarmingly can't fit into with any competency against decent opposition.

MCL _ All you need to know

How long does it take to fully recover from an MCL tear?

The time it takes to fully recover from an MCL tear depends on how severe the tear is. A grade 1 (mild) MCL tear usually heals within one to three weeks. A grade 2 (moderate) MCL tear generally takes four to six weeks to heal with treatment. A grade 3 (severe) MCL tear can take six weeks or more to heal with treatment. If you undergo surgery to fix your MCL tear, it could take longer.

Although these things aren't precise and everyone's different and no two injuries are exactly the same, it looks like she's out until about March based on the medical advice above. If the injury is 8 weeks she'll need extensive rehab and a couple of weeks minimum to get up to speed.

Disappointingly the fight for all silverware will likely be over by the time she gets back, lets hope not!

We wish her well in her rehab.

Sad to read that but with this being this being posted 20 Dec and our next big game coming 19th Jan in the derby, hopefully she won’t miss many matches overall.

It seems City have been proactive in the market to add another central defender to cover Alexs' injury with experienced German international Rebecca Knaak.
