Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

The criticism from what should be supportive commentators is coming in thick and fast now. He might have a massive majority and 4+ years on the clock but this will be eating away at his authority.

Not sure there are many that see a path to the top job right now but there are many, many, that BJ trampled over to get to where he is now.

There are also many cabinet members who were forced to back Cummings against their better judgement and will be getting less and less keen to put up with any more BS. BJ has burned messes of political capital for no gain.

I'm like a moth to a flame when anybody mentions Rory - where is he when we need him?

like so many level headed moderate Tories not in the party. And people used to bang on about Momentum ffs..............just coz Cummings and his mentalists don't choose to band together under a single name hasn't made them any less of a threat and a danger to the future of the country

Gove would chuck Johnson under a train to get his job - or to be more accurate Mrs Gove would

Brexiteers?

For all those spouting the hindsight argument just have a look back at the interviews given by Rory Stewart on and around the tenth of March , it blows your bullshit hindsight theory right out of the water .

Yep. Would have made for such a different type of politics in general too had he won the conservative leader vote. Was never likely with his brexit stance though (which also would also have been better for the country!).

At this stage ? Where have they been
Not sure what they can do. They are a single issue party now. They never claimed to be competent - their only commitment was to get Brexit done.
Everyone new BJ was a lazy weasel of a politician so there is no point expressing disappointment at the way it is panning out.

Cummentum?

I think he's actually lost control of the cabinet. It's in the Brexit thread but this week we've had a joint letter from Defra and DIT saying no lowering of food standards - but also reports of higher tariffs for imported food that doesn't meet our current standards (EU standards). Tories can't even believe what they tell each other at the moment.

The Agriculture Bill is a mess - a new ELMS scheme that is asking farmers to invest in environmental schemes with no indication of what payments will be, and nothing beyond the first year of a commitment to replace (and phase out) CAP payments. It's crazy to move from subsidising food production in the UK and allow in food subsidised by competitor countries (especially food produced to lower standards).

44. And we still haven’t seen the report into Russian interference with the Brexit campaign

45. Boris Johnson said he is taking “direct control” of the handling of coronavirus (it is not clear who has been in control for the previous 132 days of the outbreak)

46. It was reported Boris Johnson takes naps for as much as 3 hours per working day

Chapeau.

10 March. I think the Tories were still calling this bloke ‘a loon’ at this time. He managed to hit the nail on the head though.

And the ‘medical expert’ who managed to severely damage her reputation by publicly supporting what Dominic Cummings did.

They should have voted him in as leader*

*My opinions are no way based on the 20/1 bet I placed.....

You could easily conclude that that list is actually more damming on the opposition as even with all that going on, much of it before the coronavirus pandemic, they still suffered their worst GE defeat in 80yrs!
