Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

This isn’t the job Johnson applied for. He wants easy street, waving Union Jacks at the Olympics, he’s a good news guy -

Said that on the night he was out clapping before he went into hospital - he looked a broken man - illness aside he stood there looking around like "it just wasn't meant to be like this" - ever since then whenever I see him I feel he is going through the motions because none of this is what he hoped for - he wanted Churchill and ticker tape and street parties and laughter and people loving him but its been all hard work, tough going and tears and he cannot be doing with that - we all like easy street and happy times but life ain't like that - well it isn't in most peoples life experience but if you have the kind of privileged entitled upbringing he's had you don't have many bumps in your road and those you have can be shrugged off or ignored ...

Cheers

But he can’t crown Gove a replacement, I assume it will go for to a vote. By which time, most would have distanced themselves from Johnson and has little gang
Last time May stayed on to allow the members to elect our Prime Minister. If Johnson had to go immediately, then wouldn't the monarch have to ask someone to be PM before they could ballot? Choose someone from the Lords so as not to prejudge the party machinations? Baroness Warsi?

Churchill? More like chamberlain, if the fucker could of waved a white piece of paper to the public assuring us there would be no virus in our time before skulking off to cobra to lay out the terms of our complete and utter surrender to the covid 19 virus he would of.

I'm not convinced he has misjudged it at all. You can even see from the small sample on this forum that since Johnson did the briefing and really got the hackles up of people who are against him, it has dramatically changed the tone of response of those who are generally supportive of Johnson but were either keeping quiet about this Cummings situation or were even being critical of the government. We are still a polarised country and sadly as soon as one side kicks off about something the other closes ranks no matter what the morals of it are.
I wasn’t against him and this is beyond politics. Are you talking from a political view still? Too many tribal views ( what should I expect from a football forum). I’m enraged by the double standards. I had to stay in with my family when I had the virus, risk the children being exposed and rely on drop offs. I don’t even think it’s clever deflection tactics , the other issues will be brought back in good time.

be careful what you wish for.

I honestly think some people hope/feel the govt will fall over this. Let me be clear , I never voted Tory and don't even think BJ was fit to be a journalist, never mind Mayor,MP or PM, but it would actually worry me if this Cummings thing could cause the downfall of PM or Govt. There are so many other shitty things they need to be held to account for surely? - this is all a bit pathetic. I'm not a fan of these social media/media witch hunts whoever they are against.
The man who crafted/crafts all the governments key messages on how we combat the greatest existential threat this country has ever seen is now shown to brazenly disregard all that advice and could be sacked - you think that's "pathetic". Chacun a son gout.

This isn’t the job Johnson applied for. He wants easy street, waving Union Jacks at the Olympics, he’s a good news guy - it’s pathetic. But Brexit meant Brexit and this is the horse they hitched their wagon to

But he’s not going anywhere unless something happens which allows for Brexit to be detached from Johnson and he be a PM judged by normal standards. There maybe some green shoots of this with Baker, Bone and friendly journalists taking an aggressive stance V Johnson

Cummings clearly knows where the bodies are buried hence senior cabinet members falling over themselves to defend him

It would only have taken an apology and it would have blown over in the main. But that’s for normal people, not them

Only the elite can get away with not combing their hair whilst in senior positions and dressing like scruffy cunts. How they ever sold themselves as ‘men of the people’ is remarkable, really
So true. Most politicians would fancy themselves to bluster and befuddle their way through a bit of a financial/political crisis. Only the very best, the absolute cream would be able to navigate this thing. And Johnson ain't the cream. He's like the kid who thinks he's mustard at swimming - the Billy Big Bollocks in the small pool at the baths. Then gets asked to go and save someone who's struggling in the local river and looks around to his pals who've all been hitherto slapping him on the back. Only, someone's drowning and a 200m badge on your trunks won't cut the mustard. So the kid drowns but Johnson gets a pat on the back from his pals (you couldn't have done anything and remember, you've still got your 200m badge) and feels great about himself. And so it goes with these deluded cunts. They. Don't. Care.

Member of The Lords can't be a PM

Yep, compared to things the Govt have/haven't done that have lead to 1000's of deaths Cummings going up the A1 is a story worthy of heat magazine. It is pathetic how easily we are distracted.

Technically that’s not strictly true. When Alec Douglas-Home became PM he was a member of the House of Lords as the Earl of Home. He then revoked his peerage and became an MP a few weeks later. Apologies for the pedantry.
Order! Order! He revoked his peerage so wasn't a Lord. I stand by my claim that a member of the Lords can't be a PM. Apologies for reverse-pedantry!! What I think we both agree is that you can be a Lord, revoke, and be PM, you can't stay being a Lord and be PM. Lock the doors!

It is. Thankfully we haven't been distracted this time. Looks like the 4th estate are finally doing their job.
I'm honestly not sure they are. The real story that actually could put tremendous pressure on the pm and govt is around the issue of death rates, the late wishy washy lockdown, testing /tracking, and gaping holes in the 'plan' to return to normal. All these have been pushed off the news agenda by a sort of cross between Karl pilkington and Oswald Moseley driving up the A1. The shit state of the A1 is probably a more important story.
